Tonight just before the ITV News at Ten on Granada we had a sequence I could only explain as 'coming up' before the ads before N@10. It featured a still with glassy hearts covering it (not the blue) and the announcer said something about the news after the break.
After the break, to my suprise, no ident, the Granada News titles and the regional headlines with So who said and now the ITV News at 10! Have granada been doing this all week or is it just tonight, the hearts looked suspiciously like they were derived from the original hearts that were never aired!

And off topic the ITN news channel reporters sign off ITV News! Co-use of VT.

Yeah, I heard this (I was out of the room at the time) and was quite annoyed that I missed the graphic that went with it.

Was it just the same graphics they used for the website addresses a few months back or was this a new one? Did the graphic make any mention of itv1 or the programme, or was it just a thing on the screen?

One other thing, after a few days of highly regional announcements we seem to be back to the itv1 being mentioned all the time tonight. And I can't watch UTV instead cos me Sky box is broke Sad(((

Had the 'glassy' hearts in Tyne Tees region, they were animated however.

Which announcer is it tonight?
I know it was Maggie on the Daytime shift, and she does actually do regionalised announcements, before the 12.45pm regional news, I always thought they used a 'staggered start' technique before the regional stuff.

Younger woman B (ie not Helen Aitken). It's strange because she normally does mention the station names all the time. But it's been ITV1 ITV1 ITV1 all night tonight.

Maggie does do some regionalised stuff but not that much. Bob doesn't do any (well, only very occasionally) but at least he doesn't bang on with this ITV1 stuff!!

Anyway, back to the point Wink I haven't seen that one Andrew, what is it? Gareth, any more info?

It was those hearts I saw (with the image duplicated) but static.
I don't know who the announcer was as I don't know their names and to be honest I couldn't tell you if it was male or female!http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif
I've never seen the graphic on Granada before.

They're obviously up to something. The announcer had made an announcement over the previous programme's end-credits, so there was no need for this unless it was some sort of test.

ITV Channel Islands
Meridian have been been using them for ages for the whats up next announcement although they don't seem to have the up next screen as often as they used to

Same here in the anglia region, they are animated and they use them as coming up captions, but they never have any writing or graphics added to them
