Granada

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but a new Granada production slide was just on at the end of the Coronation St omnibus.

Stylised purple "G" on a kind of bluey black background and referred to it as "A Granada Manchester Production"

I assume this a thing to come?

Yep, it's the future I'm afraid. Look out for "Granada Leeds", "Granada <insert regional studio name here>" Production slides coming soon.

So would Anglia be under the Granada Anglia title or Granada Norwich? Kinda reminds me of Sale of the Century! Mind you, when Trisha goes to 5, I doubt there will be much from Anglia other than it's news which is just what Granada wanted.

Granada Norwich. Anglia, Meridian, Yorkshire, Border, Tyne Tees, Westcountry, Central, LWT and Carlton productions will all be out the window.

It was only a few years ago that certain members on tv pres forums were praising Granada over Carlton, mainly for keeping the regions names but look at it now. Granada has done more bad for ITV as a whole than Carlton did.

Just give it time before Anglia Tonight in my region becomes the Granada Norwich Evening News!

Indeed. I've always looked at it this way: Granada only kept their regions' names in order to hide behind them (particularly in the case of the dire GMG North continuity during the Hearts era). Carlton stamped their name onto their regions mainly in order to strengthen the Carlton brand, but also because they weren't ashamed of the service they were providing.

As I understand it Granada network productions will be credited to Manchester, Leeds or London. Regional programmes will stay ITV productions.

True, I guess it sounds more like a newspaper title than a news programme!

As for the Carlton bashing. I must admit I hated Carlton to begin with but when the hearts campaign started, my alliance changed in favour of Carlton. Their presentation was warm, I would always hear words like "Good Evening and welcome to Carlton...." When the hearts campaign started, they didnt even mention the station name for months because the continuity was being streamlined around the regions.

Right. So:

Regional Programmes = Made by the regions, but sorted under "ITV News Group", the news division of ITV = Endcaps saying "ITV <region> - An ITV Production"
Network Programmes = Made by "Granada", the production division of ITV = Endcaps saying "A Granada <studio> Production"

Well that would be ok for progs made by Granada, LWT and YTV but what about Tyne Tees, Meridian, Anglia,Central etc

Well, there aren't many that are! Maybe they'll just get a generic "a Granada production" slide, or maybe their studio names will be mentioned as well?
