Just before BBC ONE closedown (sorry, News 24) last night at 1.00am, did anyone see an advert for HM Customs & Excise about drug smuggling? I thought it was a bit odd, as its ages since I've seen a non-BBC ad on the BBC.

Is this the return of government advertising on the BBC?

There are often government adverts just before closedown on BBC One as far as I know and have seen from time to time.

What are they usually about?

I mean, why would a drug smuggler be watching BBC News 24 in the early hours of the morning?!

They might have nothing better to do!! Smile

Urm, I am trying to think of what they are about... I think there have been ones on smoking, speeding, etc. Can't think of anymore at the moment...
