I never knew that they had all these BBC buildings around Scotland. What are they actually used for?

It was linked to in the old thread anyway as they've been on Street View a while, but given they pretty much finished knocking down the buildings in the last few weeks from what I'm told, it seems highly poignant to link back to this place in a former view:-
