Nah, it's Home and Away on RTE1 after the One O'Clock News!

Sorry I just thought it was Neighbours so it would be a clash between RTE One and Five then?

Yes - and that issue has been ongoing since 2000.

As I've said previously on here, I really don't understand why the programme is blocked on NTL and not on Sky Digital in N. Ireland. I'm sure there's logic there somewhere.

Is the actual ITV regional franchise still called 'Ulster'? That's what it says on the ITV Regions pages.

I assume Ofcom refers to the region as Northern Ireland.

I think we know very well why the full name was dropped, had the 'TV' bit not been a red herring, they would have changed it, too.

Really the change happened on 4 June 1993, when Ulster Television became UTV onscreen and for pretty much all other purposes. All this is really doing is completing the rebrand that happened thirteen years ago by changing the legal name to UTV plc.

The Ulster Television name has been dead for thirteen years. Now they can take it off the bottom of their corporate stationary where the directors are listed and put "UTV plc" instead. They've been calling themselves that for a while anyway.
