But will CNBC Europe take the Kudlow and Crammer programme. (November 2003)

Just been on CNBC's U.S website now known as MSN Money and Business Center and Open Exchange are no more.

Plus Michelle Caruso Caberera (what a mouth full?) will not be featured in CNBC's future schedule.

The new programming takes place on Monday 8th of December this year and it goes like this:

Power Lunch will be with Bill Griffeth and Sue Herera.

Tyler Matherson may co-presenter the whole 2 hours of Closing Bell.

Ron Insona will present Street signs in place of Open Exchange.

And Kudlow and Crammer will have the old Business Center spot.

Now 2 things:

1, Sad to see Business Center go.

Secondly, Will CNBC Europe take that programme or opted for Asia Squawk Box instead?

What do you think?

Hmm, I wonder why.

Could it be "Bye bye, expensive-to-produce news programme; hello, cheap-to-produce opinion show"?

Ironic that a business channel has to economise on its programming, really.

Then again, I suppose that's what happens when you spend silly amounts on new studios: the budget for solid news shows just goes out of the window.

Good point, but then they signed up Dennis Miller and on the Digitalspy article it states that his programme will start in January at 9:00pm New York time, therefore this sounds to me like Capital Report could be moved to 8:00pm.

Infact from the MSN discussion board I read that they were Business Center were losing viewers. Shocked

I wonder whether Michelle could be going back to reporting duties for CNBC or may even stand-in for Sue on Power Lunch when she's away, but from watching the programme occasionally, Bill has presented the programme on his own when Michelle's been on her hols.

Considering the amount of money spent on new titles and graphics for all of CNBC's U.S. programming following the networks' recent move to new headquarters over there, I am very surprised to learn that Business Centre and Open Exchange are to be axed because of poor ratings.

Street Signs was I believe a CNBC US programme before...

The News with Brian Williams is also getting a new anchor in January. Brian Williams is going to concentrate on his reporting for NBC News and backup anchor for Tom Brokaw who he's replacing full time late next year...

Denis Miller is being aired in primetime so that had to move or dump something...

Its going to be CNBC Asia Squawk Box Mon-Thurs at 10pm from 8th December, according to Digiguide. MSNBC will air at 10pm on Fridays (last time they tried this, they aired the Friday edition of Asia Market Wrap in this slot, the only time this show was ever aired by CNBC Europe).

PS has Serena Al-Awa left CNBC Europe? I never see TBiz (as they now insist on calling Today's Business) but I never see her on trailers, or CNBC Europe Squawk Box. She's not in the group photo (at bottom of http://www.cnbceurope.com/press_releases.html ) either...

I think that it is sad to see Business Center go. I think that it was one of the best shows which CNBC US produced. I always liked the fact that it was shown from the NYSE. Then when they moved to their new HQ - it lost a bit of its "sparkle."

I also think the reduction in the segments which used to be done before - made less people watch as it started to become another CNBC show, it lost its uniqueness.
