Hmm... what are the 4 coloured zones of that map?

All three Carlton Central sub-regions, plus the Carlton London region? (Seeings as it is a Carlton-branded sign. Although London is irrelevant in Birmingham... Rolling Eyes )

Although it could be London as it features the old Central Cake logo in the top right corner of the pic, long before it got Carltonised before being rebranded as Central and then the original Carlton 1993 logo in the bottom left. Quite what its got to do with Birmingham but then the might have been stingy at Carlton and just copied the same map to London and the Midlands!

There was quite a lot of Central, and some ATV stuff inside back in 2005, and quite a bit of it was scooped up by several people. But we didn't get into the Central House side of the building, otherwise the signs most likely would have been taken too.

There's a fascinating video tour of the ATV Centre in three parts on YouTube somewhere. It's well worth a look. It was shot a couple of years ago and really shows the state the place was in. The roof of the main studio was leaking fairly badly even then and there was a fair amount of water on the studio floor. Some of it is quite spooky. It's amazing how much stuff was actually left in situ however!

Shame really, considering it's history. I hope the same doesn't happen to Kent House

Or TV Centre given that. Confused Although in fairness, these places do need a 21st century revamp.

Hmm - what more of a revamp do you want than TC1 and TC8 being two of the only decent HD studios in the UK?

Kent house will probably be recased eventually seeing as it dates back to mid/late 60's and was from that era of dodgy tower block building

This latest batch reveals the possible location of the elusive Blockbusters theme! Someone go and rescue it.....

Some excellent shots in that latest batch. Sad (but fascinating) to see how much stuff Central simply left lying around.

What do these chaps do then? Just get into these places and wander around taking pictures? Seems pretty dangerous to me... Demolition sites are notoriously easy places to fall, trip, inhale dodgy dusts etc...

Some facinating pictures there, but some have left me a wee bit angry. All those tapes that have been left, I mean come on, haven't ITV learnt from BBC's mistakes with Doctor Who, Z Cars, The Likely Lads, etc.

There could be some one off stuff there & yet it's just been left there to rot, thanks Carlton Evil or Very Mad

Who's in the tower now BTW?

Just because there are a few tapes left behind doesn't necessary mean that they are the only copies. The theme tune to Blockbusters is readily available on any number of theme tune CDs, does it really matter if a 1/4" copy of it gets lost in the building? The same with the Carts, they're no use in themselves these days and the programmes they have the stings for are out of production, why would ITV want them?
