Interesting to see the GMA desk in the penultimate picture!! Is this a pack thats actually produced?? Because I want one!! And do they sell the mugs like they do the loose women ones??
I would guess that initial focus groups have suggested that their core viewers don't like the newsier format and with poor ratings, there has been a distinct change to a more showbiz agenda lately. Leading on what showbiz stories they've got ahead rather than advertising that there will be a full news service.

Just me that thinks the right hand side is better than the left?
I think pseudo-3D gloss effects have been done to death in TV lately (main culprit is Sky), so it's nice to see something a bit cleaner. The "proper" logo seems fresher in my opinion.
It needs time to build. Daily ratings at the moment are meaningless, surely? If things haven't changed in 18 months, then there's a problem.
18 months?! Thats a long time. Things will take a good 9 months I would say to "bed in". If by the end of the year ratings havent changed, then there is a problem.
I'd still say more like 18 months. A radio breakfast show needs a few years to bed in, typically. I'd imagine a TV breakfast show needs an amount of time longer than 9 months too.

If the GMTV 3D logo effect was anything to go by, then I'm very happy that this is listed in the guidelines as a 'do not'. I agree with AJ, it makes a nice change to have a clean, simple logo.

Not a great comparison, the reason things don't change in radio is that ratings are only released 3 times a year and even then they are averaged across a year.
Tv ratings are delivered every day and are far more detailed and advertisers watch them closely. No sales team is going to stand by when ratings continue to drop. Advertisers need to be pleased.

Ratings are released 4 times a year in radio, with commercial radio also having advertisers to please. I'd still say around 18 months for GMB to bed in.
Television doesn't move that slow. Adrian and Christine had just 13 months before it was decided they'd move on and that was despite their friendship with Peter Fincham. The review of ITV Breakfast was ordered just 8 months into Lorraine and Aled's reign on Daybreak.

Who said they didn't? 4 times a year averaged across the year is totally different to detailed daily reports. TV advertising is completely different and the pressure to perform is far greater.Advertisers can tell in you in a minute how many housewives with kids is watching GMB yesterday, that pressure just isn't applied to radio. Anyone who has been involved in selling either will tell you that. As Andrew pointed out above there has already been noticeable changes to the agenda on GMB.

Daybreak version 1 was given 2 years, whilst version 2 was given 18 months. I think Adrian and Christine got 14 to 15 months. I'd still say 18 months for GMB to bed in. As regards having advertisers to please, you raised this point, not me. The pressure to perform in radio is just as great.

There was a number of mini revamps in that period. Christine and Adrian's departure was announced 14 months after their debut! Lorraine and Aled were only presenting for 8 months when the head of daytime ordered a review of it. Daybreak from December 2011 to September 2012 was only treading water until Lorraine took over with daybreak 2 and the same could be said about since last Autumn until April of this year.
