I'm surprised BBC Scotland hasn't kicked up a fuss about STV using Good Morning Scotland...

Surely it would be ITV Breakfast, part of ITV plc, that they should take it up with. STV are effectively just an independent production company between 0600 and 0925 when they produce the breakfast opts in GMB. They aren't the broadcaster, just the producer.

I still don't understand why they can't extend the main Good Morning Britain show when Lorraine's away. They can still do the light stuff that she does after 8.30.

I thought Lorraine pre-recording Friday's shows meant no more Kate Garraway. I was expecting a new or different face to cover Lorraine's holidays, extending the main show would be a better option.

But in doing so they'd lose the benefit of Lorraine having higher ratings, as it is a separately reported show.

Are the ratings still as high when Lorraine isn't presenting though?

I don't think they vary that much. Audiences aren't totally fixated on the presenters of shows - much as agents wish they were (The One Show demonstrated that pretty effectively)... They watch out of habit and because they like the content as well.

Was Susanna in the studio at the top of the programme before going to the Tom Cruise premiere, or has it been just Charlotte, John & Ranvir all morning?

And we have Charlotte in Ben's seat and Ranvir in Charlottes.

Ever since Susanna left they all shifted, Ranvir moved to Sean/John's seat, and John moved to Susanna's seat

But Susanna returns and they all moved back to the first plan at 8:21

Sounds like a cue for a Presenter Seating Plan thread.

Looks like the ratings at GMB aren't improving. This from TV Ratings UK:

@TVRatingsUK: Yesterday's #GoodMorningBritain rating of 0.42m/12.9% is ITV's lowest breakfast audience (excl. bank holidays) since Jan 2 (0.36m/14.1%).

@TVRatingsUK: BBC Breakfast meanwhile averaged 1.46m/37.7% yesterday.

It needs time to build. Daily ratings at the moment are meaningless, surely? If things haven't changed in 18 months, then there's a problem.

18 months?! Thats a long time. Things will take a good 9 months I would say to "bed in". If by the end of the year ratings havent changed, then there is a problem.
