Kate seems to be enjoying herself with a lot of off script banter & confusion over the cameras, she's making everyone have a giggle though.
Twitter seems to be split between "Why on earth have you brought that awful woman back" and "At last you've seen the light and brought that lovely woman back"
Which is half the problem ITV have. There is no consistent opinion on what they don't like, instead two complete opposite opinions.
I for one was very happy to see Kate back on my TV this morning. She brings a sense of humanity to the show, I loved that she was talking to the wrong camera and then had a laugh about it, she is a normal down to earth woman who doesn't take herself too seriously, and at the same time can cope with the hard hitting news stories.
Also, you can't beat the banter between Ben and Kate, you can really tell they have a genuine, good relationship. I have to say I enjoyed todays programme more than any of the others since the launch. In future I would be very happy to see much more of Ben and Kate presenting together.
Kate was great today. What sets her apart is that she doesn't look like a rabbit caught in headlights every time there's a deviation from the auto-cue...she seemed to give the whole show a confidence that it's lacked until now. Even Susanna performed better alongside her.
I was never much of a fan of Kate on GMTV or Daybreak but I actually really warmed to her while she was on GMB. But she is like the one rat that survives after a nuclear explosion, she always appears after a programme has been put to bed...
I do hope she makes more of an appearance on GMB, but not to often that it will sicken the viewers...

I don't see what the problem with her is. She is perfectly capable news presenter and she is perfectly good at fluffy stuff too. I like her and I always have despite some of the c**p she was presenting. I really liked her yesterday as she was presenting something good.

As a viewer I'm not sure I'm warming to this presenting line up.. One problem for me is why 3 stands in?! John, Kate, Ranvir all very good, likeable I just don't see why the need to have them all around? As if four presenters wasn't enough then three people a week standing in - could one of them not done that? Ranvir could of been promoted as 'main presenter' so there was a team of five with four appearing each day?
Just I'm not liking all the different stand ins. I think they need to keep presenters to a minimum but this is excessive.
Just an observation.
I do think Ranvir is doing quite well in this format, as suspected.
Why people don't like Kate? Surely looking at yesterday's open when she looks at camera pulls a strange face screeching "Hello!!" Is the reason why- she tries too hard and acts a bit like a ladette on a drinking night out.
It seems that even though the stand ins were planned before the show launched, much of the feedback on social media today suggests people think they are panicking and going back to 'what worked before'.

But I would say 95% of reaction to Kate I read yesterday was positive.
