I'm in Wales but ITV HD shows the Central Regional News. I haven't seen one opt out yet that I felt wasn't clearly obvious that it was recorded. Few second delays, different sound etc. I think it would look a lot more smooth if they dropped Ben introducing the regional newreaders by name. Nice idea, but I think the transition from GMB to regional studios would flow better and look far more professional if they dropped this.

Is it accurate to suggest BBC Breakfast lost more viewers on the Back Holiday than GMB? I know they still had more overall, but I think they lost 200,000 more than GMB did?

It's percentages that matter - 300,000 would be a much bigger loss percentage-wise to a show getting 600,000 viewers than a show getting 1,500,000.

Is it next Friday when we will see Ranvir and Kate presenting and will John Stapleton be on too?

Three days next week without the regular line up according to Digiguide:

Tuesday: John Stapleton is in for Ben.
Thursday: Kate Garraway is in for Charlotte on Thursday
Friday: Ranvir Singh is in for Susanna (though it's listed in such a way that Charlotte stands in for Susanna as we expected).

The following week both John and Kate are in Thursday for Ben and Charlotte, with Ranvir in for Susanna on the Friday.

Right out of the main four, Sean is the only one to present five days a week the other three do four days but not all off on the same day then?

That's the case at the moment. It'll be interesting to see whether he's the lead male host when Ben is off - the way it's listed the first time he's not but the second time he is. I'd imagine he will be - but still think John is a poor fit for the format really and surprised he'd want to take such a role really.

I don't understand it when people say he is a poor fit for the role, John is by far the best journalist they have at ITV Breakfast (and I don't know why ITN hasn't snapped him up, but that is a different topic altogether...) and hard news is his thing . You could clearly see during the last few weeks of Daybreak V2 that he was struggling to push himself through the absolute s***e that was being broadcast.

I don't lend myself to rota comments, but I'm very pleased to see that Ranvir will be taking the lead role when Suzanna is off, and Kate the expanded newsreader role that Charlotte has.

I don't know why ITN hasn't snapped him up.

At 68, he's in the autumn of his career - one of many reasons why he hasn't been "snapped up".

Apologies I should have been more clear, I meant that why hasn't ITN snapped him up at any time, recent or years ago.

Perhaps he likes doing mornings.

ITN has also always had plenty of older male stalwarts in the 90s and early 00s they had McDonald, Suchet and Owen and more recently Alistair Stewart you can only have so many.
ASO, chris and bilky asko gave kudos

I wonder why he's worked in breakfast TV for so long, especially after his bad experience at TV-am.
