It's only been a week! I hope they don't get scared and start fiddling again - changing things constantly is bound to put people off.

It dosent matter what itv does im afraid, most people are getting their kids ready or getting themselves ready and just leave it on in the background, which just happens to be bbc one unfortunately for itv.

Then how do you explain the fact that throughout the 1990s the number one breakfast show was either on ITV or Channel 4?

BBC1 broadcast a less accessible hard news programme during that time?
Stuart, tmorgan96 and Ben gave kudos

Less competition. Don't forget the power of the kids channels, parents are also as likely to leave the tv on one of those. Sky News Sunrise wasn't also on terrestrial television in the 90s.

Don't get me wrong I want itv to succeed but this is what I think is happening in the mornings my parents for example always have it on bbc one it just seems to be natural for them, you do wonder how many other people out there have this behaviour.

Watched the full 2.30 hours today for the first time and it's SO repetitive! I know the show is not designed for ppl to watch the whole way through but it's crazy that they have no new material or developments on stories.
It appears very tacky at times as well. The whole Andi Peters segment and the common people spinning a wheel has to go!
The show seems to start on a high.. fast paced.. very newsy.. and then after 20 minutes just continues to repeat itself and talk about RUBBISH.
How many times did Ben Shepherd show us the stupid potty with an iPad this morning. They just seem to waffle on about non-important trash.
Who really cares what David and Victoria Beckham wore to a party in New York last night. If you have to tell us.. do so quickly.. but don't repeat it endlessly!
The show has the makings to become something very special and amazing. Presentation wise its brilliant. It just needs to work on the content.

Well to be honest, I haven't even seen 1 advertisement for the program and if I wasn't part of the forum I wouldn't even know the program had existed, considering I do now watch the program every morning.

But a Breakfast viewer wouldn't know the program existed with hardly any advertisements during the day and evening for GMB. At least put an advert for it a few times in Corrie.

You're 1000% right that it is NOT a programme which is designed to be watched in full, and therefore shouldn't be critiqued as such. The nature of breakfast TV is that there are viewers dipping and out all the time as they get ready for work. So I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a degree of repetition.

In terms of the news content they deliver, there isn't an awful lot of scope to be developing on any of the stories in the space of 2 1/2 hours at that time of day. We haven't yet seen a major news story break during the programme yet (aside from that house fire in the first week) - that will be the true test of its ability to update key developments rapidly.

Seems they can't decide whether to put the ticker on the Entertainment segment. It's on, off, on again, off again. Definitely think it should be there.

Ticker has to be off during anything that is sponsored.

Ben records his regional news throws each day.
