I overall really enjoy GMB. I love how fast paced it is, and that it is not all news, and not all fluffy. For me, its just right so it looks like I will be staying with them. Now, I think they need to get the balance right, and try to get viewers to connect with the show. I think Charlotte and Sean are both underused to an extent. I think Charlotte needs a more defined role, and I think they should have the TOTH news with her instead of all together doing it. I agree about scrapping Ross on GMB, but I do think he should kept for Lorraine, on a lesser basis, maybe every Friday for a Showbiz roundup and the odd interview? Sean has a very ill-defined role as presenter, when all he is a sports presenter. Probably should just have him on for the sports, and not the rest. That may also stop complaints of there being too many presenters.. Andi Peters has to go, the whole feature is cheap, tacky and so GMTV. I think the competitions should just be voiced by either the TOTH voiceover or even Richard Arnold. Other than that, I do quite enjoy it..

I wouldn't reduce Charlotte and Sean to just the news/sport presenters respectively. One thing that might be an idea though is assuming that come September any contractual obligations to Kate and Ranvir are done and dusted that they reduce to three presenters a time, with 3 of these 4 generally on duty - as someone said way earlier in the thread (maybe in the last thread) it would be like the Blue Peter team where they had 4 presenters but only ever 3 on one show. I think between them they have everything more than covered so one not being there (and without a replacement) wouldn't leave any kind of void and I do think given the chance Sean would be more than capable of being the sole male presenter alongside Susanna and Charlotte.

Certainly wouldn't make any change like that until September though.
Stuart, HJL and Rijowhi gave kudos

That's a very good point Brekkie. I didn't think about it, as I was thinking who could fill in for them but 3 at one point could work well with 4 of them on some occasions.

I also don't think that they should change any of their positions, I like the mix of them all going through the news and links. I do want to see Sean do a bit more though, and I'm sure that there are some more sports headlines that they could announce.

UTV revamped their Daybreak studio for GMB ( noticed it hadn't been posted).

Thought UTV and STV might have their news branding under the Good Morning logo in the way the ITV regions have ITV News.

good grief, look at the harsh shadows going on there... the studio lighting is awful. couldn't they soften it up a bit?

reminds me of cheap australian teatime soap operas that explore all aspects of 'teen angst' and their highly complex relationships using a considerable array of versatile actors. i hate the lighting on those.

The STV Bulletins come from the News Studio, so I can't understand why they don't use the big screen for the morning bulletins instead of trying to recreate an ITV regional studio...

Have read a few comments and thought I'd add my tuppence worth. I declare I am a fan of Ranvir and was sorry that Matt left. The two of them carried credibility on the news front and while Charlotte seems likeable I cannot claim to warm to Susanna - but she clearly is rated.
However all this media focus and hype about her being sexy and the legs drawing in the punters is degrading and sod it if I am shouted down for saying that as well.
As a woman, I think Ranvir is a good, professional clean cut journo yet is not too clinical and IMO would work well as a member of the current set up and quite comfortable exchanging in the banter. Matt is the exact same as Ranvir on all this and now back at 5 News. Sadly, he has gone back to Five (no disrespect to Five) and what a waste to GMB.
I think GMB needs time to gel and it is far too early to declare success or failure but more importantly rather than the people the content needs to change.
James Worlds News says the pros of This Morning would work well and I agree that engaging with viewers is essential and I completely agree.
Perhaps something like The Hub could work and with many embracing social media they need to move to this more.
One thing I would say is that they are best offering something very different to BBC Breakfast - variety is good.
I do rate the titles and studio; the news is okay and some of the fluff works rather well. Some elements are cheesy but hey ITV breakfast shows were always cheesy compared to the Beeb.
In short focus on format not someone's legs and perhaps they'll be on the right track - remember Fiona Armstrong, the 'F' factor and the GMTV launch. Learn from mistakes!!
As I say, these are all my thoughts for what they are worth.

To be fair, I don't think GMB has focused on Susanna's legs.

Mmm true to some extent but I would be astounded if they did not consider this considering some camera shots this week. As I say I am not taken by her ability...sorry. Anyway I may sound like Mary Whitehouse now haha

By having close up shots and putting her behind a desk?

Not quite no - they are not always behind the big desk are they?

There has been less focus on her legs on GMB than there had been on Breakfast. Much to tabloid media disgust.

Well they'll have to perv when she is away from the desk - she might be sexiest in the poll next year
