Watched a good 20 minutes this morning before going to Work (could only watch a few minutes yesterday with the Sound off so I didn't disturb the Wife and Boy,
) I really am digging the music, set, and the main four presenters work well together. Laura Tobin works well in my opinion with the other presenters. The News side of things is fine, however I feel they are still over reliant on celebrity nonsense...less is more (which also goes for the Entertainment News Presenters, Mr Peters wins this for me...). 7/10.

Nope it's branded as Good Morning Scotland for both North and Central, but the content is different and North is a pre-record...
So is it one single service for both parts of STV during GMB?

I don't think it would be hard for each region to provide say, 3 headlines of local news to run alongside the national headlines.
I don't think it would even have to be permanently opted out. Each regional office could update a text file which could be linked to the ticker which is then overlaid by ITV before the feed is sent out to the regions.

Local weather would be ideal and probably easier than local news as the latter actually needs someone to type it in and mix it in with national news. The weather is already compiled and is there, they just need to sift out the relevant ones.
What technical reasons do we think being permanently opted out would cause?

I think it's more the case that she was very underused at Sky.
People on this thread keep saying what a revelation Charlotte Hawkins is. However she is by no means a revelation. Anyone watching sunrise on sky would know that herself and Eamonn have provided the best morning time offering for years. Charlotte has been excellent for a number of years and is vastly experienced despite her youthful looks.

As part of the franchise contract ITV Breakfast is obliged to pay STV two separate fees for each of their franchises, and therefore they would expect two separate bulletins.

They are two totally seperate shows now. They Shouldn't be compared.
I do like Lorraine's new set. It's the in thing (see Saturday Kitchen, Weekend Kitchen, Sunday Brunch (to some extent)), and it feels homely - though potentially like it's in an ikea store.
I think that the shows need to be properly separated now. End GMB with an ident preceding Lorraine. They no longer share studio, presenter, guests, crew nor resemble graphics or music anymore.
As a compromise, I think the link to Lorraine should be done after a guest interview around 8:27, for the presenters to either get back to the desk, or the fellow presenters to join them at the sofa (if there's room) to end the programme, no preview as it's just been done, ads, ident, Lorraine.
Speaking of the new Lorraine, is it just me that thinks the new titles are cold in the way that she's on her own in a empty house with just an iPad for company? It's a long way from the politically correct, but surrounded by fake friends and laughing coffee morning.
I don't think it was helped on the first show with having no news paper commentators either.
Absolutely agree about giving it a proper ending - it's really jarring when they're crossing over to exactly the sort of thing the show is trying not to be. Lorraine's new studio doesn't help either - looks terribly dated, and even more so in comparison to GMB.

The regions are...
STV
UTV
Yorkshire
Central
London
Channel
Meridian
Wales
Westcountry

Has Border got their own or is it a Border/Tyne Tees pan region?
...and Granada!

On a separate note, how many regions do they have for news at Breakfast time these days? How many links does Ben have to do, it shouldn't take that long to rattle them all off.

When one flows to the other in the way they do it invites comparison, but absolutely agree with you on how they should end it, and as you say that brief trail from Lorraine gives them the chance to reunite the four main presenters one way or another (don't think we've seen all four on the sofa yet - and suspect we never will!)
Even just an endcap from GMB would probably do the job.

Why dosnt Ben just do what Al Roker does and say "that's your national forecast, here's your local weather comming up in the next 90 seconds"
Ben could say "and now to your local ITV station for your local news"
Also 4 hosts is a tad overdone in my opinion. 3 could have held them relm.
Also I agree whole heatedly with everyone on Andi Peters segment it's kinda stupid.
I've done a side by side video of GMB vs NBC today show.
They look very very simmilar
