I think for the TOTH, Laura needs a stool next the screen and an iPad, to look less like she's just hovering and being ignored and more like she's actually doing something.

Also, bit of a typo on the summary

I think they need to frame the weather shot a bit better. Laura is just to big next to the smallish screen. Would this work better for the actual forecast?

Some graphical errors they don't yet seem to have fixed. At the very start, the date under the ITV logo is not aligned with the ITV logo, and the year isn't aligned with any of the two things above it.

The clock "moves", as they haven't bothered to ensure the digits in it are a fixed width. 6:11 looks different to 6:55. Local bulletins have a bigger clock than the main show and some regions have an extra 0 for the hour.

How do they handle handing over to NI? As NI isn't part of Britain, it's a separate nation altogether, is it not very clunky? Does Ben even know NI reporters by name? Do the NI team use the same graphics/font as GMB or is it UTV News basic colours and Arial font? Rolling Eyes

Not bad considering promo was minimal. Still about 100,000 down on when ITV decided to scrap GMTV.

Incidentally 800,000 was also the figure for the first edition of The Big Breakfast in 1992 and the last in 2002.

The same as Wales and Scotland.

Breakfast peaked at 2.1m and GMB peaked at 1.2m

Not bad, better than the 2012 relaunch of daybreak.

Interestingly the audience grew as the show went on, not decreasing only increasing - peaking at 8:10

Also Dr Hilary standing up to be interviewed was just odd, he felt like a spare part.

I think with things like this, and also possibly with Laura at the start of the show, they should bring in stools for them to sit on, but can easily stand up (more so for Laura) to move around without it looking awkward at all.

One common thing from people I've spoke to and also comments on social media is that four presenters make it feel a bit too busy. I'm not sure how you get around this though, I think a point I seen yesterday about involving weather as part of Charlottes role could be an idea, Sean should do the regional links also. I'm still undecided about wether they want to push Susanna as the main presenter or is it her and Ben as the main ones? Charlottes seems to be pushed up into a higher position than Sean who appears to do very little really.

Personally I think I like it, but I think Sean needs to do more, he seems a bit of spare part. As I've said above, and although it is a small part, I think Sean should do the regional links as then it means Ben is freed up to other stuff prior to the regional links without it looking odd and it gives Sean more exposure.

According to a poll conducted by the Daily Mail, when asked if they preferred Daybreak or Good Morning Britain, only 41% of people said they preferred Good Morning Britain. This is actually better than I thought it would be. People often take badly to change so I think almost half of the people saying they think GMB is better after only two days of 'bedding in' time, bearing in mind how different it is to Daybreak, is actually pretty hopeful.

Low enough for it to be branded a 'flop', I fear - especially as they'll probably shed a fair few of those by tomorrow due to the inevitable first-day curiosity.

They really have no choice but to stay the course and build an audience over time with great content backed up, at some point, with some proper targeted marketing. But hopefully they've learnt by now that panicking and reverting back to an old format won't get them the result they're looking for.

I do think it's a decent show, so I really hope ITV give it the room it needs to grow.
