A comment on the Digital Spy live blog from 6.30am that the regional news failed to play and they got the theme instead - anyone know where that was?

They were probably watching the online stream.

Tbh, it's always confused me why itv news isn't fully integrated with itv breakfast etc. It just seems strange, with effectively different companies running regional itv, national itv and GMB.

So, where do they do the weather from then? A closer look would suggest it's not that screen on the viewer's left of the desk as it's not big enough.

Appears to be a screen though, as there are two bits of reflection of herself on the top left from other monitors or something. I think Laura walks away somewhere during the sponsor sting before the weather starts.

Although GMB carries ITV News branding, it isn't actually ITV News at all is it really ?

I think the correspondents are specific to ITV Breakfast Ltd, the likes of Sue Jameson and Richard Gaisford have moved from GMTV to Daybreak to GMB but they are not part of ITV News.
.

Do ITN do the London regional insert?

Well presumably the contract to provide news for GMB would have to be put out to tender and ITN would have to put a bid in. Maybe when the ITV News contract next comes up it could include breakfast, but that would mean effectively STV and UTV were contributing financially to content that is not even during their airtime.

I can't be bothered to read all comments, I've got a life to live LOL.

My thoughts.

Too loud. Too many presenters. Still too much fluff. Too many graphics going on (talk about onscreen crap). Weather screen too blurry. Yeah, don't like it really. Unless they get rid of 2 presenters and make it double headed and kill some graphics etc then I won't be watching again. BBC Breakfast rules Smile

Only bit I did like was the titles Very Happy

My thoughts:
Intro:
I'm an Australian who always hears Duran Duran as my breakfast show opener, so the trumpets made a huge impact and made me excited for news, not made me going on an 80s song spree after the opener. I gotta admit, it's a bit American but it is actually not ripping off the opening of the show (using the same exact presentation as Today.)
Presentation: (astons, ticker and more):
The itv.com/gmb ,the #gmb part and the weather part was very distracting and ITV has to slow it down imo. The first presenter ashton was very narrow. Very good so far.
Presenters:
All of the presenters did a very good job with the exception of the ANDI PETERS (terrible).
Regional news handovers:
It's alright, but the pre-recorded part imo, is buggy in some areas in the UK, so I say until ITV makes it less buggy, just go straight to the local news.
Overall, it's a better effort than Daybreak, and it's more news oriented which is good. ITV has to fix some certain bugs but this show made BBC Breakfast look boring. Good job, ITV! Smile

One change from yesterday: the ITV DOG has moved to the right of the screen. It was clashing with the Live bug yesterday.

It's moved on ITV HD but strangely not on ITV.
