So who'd put money on the links to regional news being exactly the same tomorrow (i.e. not refilmed so Ben is still in the same suit). Realise thats not the point in the link, but It wouldn't be the first disappointment from ITV! Razz

I'd gladly bet a fair wack they'll be fresh recordings tomorrow, most likely with a different presenter, will alternating throughout the week.

The opening was very American, but I like it

Indeed.

The shoehorning in of what is essentially the ITV beakbumper at the very start must really please STV and UTV...

ITV-branded trailers have been used since the GMTV days (possibly before) so this isn't anything new. Despite what the EPG says, 6-9.25 isn't UTV/STV.

And haven't ITV Plc done some sort of deal with STV and UTV with regards to the use of the ITV brand?

Meridian just cocked up the opt - the GMB and ITV News graphics overlap. Thumbs down

The exact same happened on Good Morning Granada, which is being presented stood up, and a nice image of Runcorn/Widnes bridge.

Strange to go with that as it's on the extremities of the region...

Like Richard said, likewise I always thought it was ITV from 6.00 - 9.25. I used to see ITV1 branded trailers back a good few years ago...

Using 'Good Morning Britain' as a greeting is going to get tedious quickly.

I only saw a bit of it on the itv player and it's already tedious!

Technically since the breakfast franchise is still separate, 6-9.25 is still GMTV, renamed ITV Breakfast Limited.

Are ITN involved in this at all? If not, I can't imagine they'd be too impressed with the "ITV News" brand being used and the potential for their reputation to be tainted if GMB did cock this up.

The ITV News brand is already used in English regions where (apart from London) ITN isn't involved.

I would be very surprised if ITV didn't own the ITV News brand themselves.

Although GMB carries ITV News branding, it isn't actually ITV News at all is it really ?

I think the correspondents are specific to ITV Breakfast Ltd, the likes of Sue Jameson and Richard Gaisford have moved from GMTV to Daybreak to GMB but they are not part of ITV News.

The ITV breakfast shows are always a bit stretched for correspondents and news resources . I don't know why they don't bring it properly into the ITV News Group.

Although ITV News Group - which is responsible for regional news programmes in England & Wales - owns 40% of ITN.
