Also this morning, they've been coming back from the BOTH regional news early and have had a school choir singing. When the clock hit 8am though, I got a bit of picture breakup, don't know if it is related to the other problems.

Yes I'm getting picture break up also. The sound is acting funny on Sky HD as well, seems to be working fine on SD though.

EDIT: At 7.30 they mentioned the sound problems on ITV HD but then told everyone to turn over to the normal SD channel.

Speaking of the choirs does anybody else that they are jarring at the moment? I know that GMTV placed them there at the top of the hour (didn't daybreak do this too last year?), but it doesn't work with this titles set up. IMO they should end entertainment a couple of minutes earlier and have them at the end of each hour.

At least they haven't gone for the itv wipe into carol, skipped headlines then straight into the date v/o and titles.

Yeah, tbh they should keep the shot of the carolers as the GMB signature plays, then fade to the shot of the 3 with the name strap IMO (basically running the sound of the ITV wipe but not the vision).

I remember daybreak doing them, but not since 2012. The open into the carol singers seems a little messy though and could be done better.

Noticed today they had dropped the ticker after 7am. Checked over yesterdays and after 7am they just had the breaking news straps, dropping the other news headlines that they had in 6am hour on the ticker. I hope they don't drop the ticket permanently, I know very few people watch it but it looks so neat for a graphics package.

I think by playing the ITV wipe they are trying to separate the 'entertainment' part with the so called 'hard news'. Having it just before the regional news would probably work better as mentioned.

Susanna also decided to pour a tub of sugar into what it seems coke. The guest didn't seem to be too happy after it poured out all over the floor:

If that had happened in any other studio the tech equipment could have been damaged.

Right, I take it you've never visited a TV studio then?

Noticed that the 'Earlier on Good Morning Britain' graphic (which used to appear immediately above the weather bug) has been moved down to lie immediately above the ticker. It seems the weather, therefore, has gone for good. It also seems, as others have pointed out, that, like Daybreak, the ticker will only be on screen from 6am-7am. When Good Morning Britain first began, there was a bit of disgruntlement among some that the screen was too 'busy'. This seems to be their way of combating this.

I think the graphics looked very modern and sleek when they were first used (and used fully), but now, it seems a little strange and disjointed without anything on the far right, and (after 7am), without the ticker. It's gone from, (in my opinion), a good use of the whole screen, to a bit of a mishmash of different colours, shapes and alignments, (the LIVE graphic remaining 16:9 safe despite the other graphics being made 4:3 safe).

I also can't help wondering how Sean feels to have started out as one of the 'big four' presenters at the desk throughout each show, to now pretty much just being brought in, almost as a guest, once an hour to discuss sport for a minute or so.

I think the show is ultimately doomed in its current format regardless of small graphic changes, sport being moved to the periphery etc for one main reason. The content is really lousy! It's post Eammon and Fiona GMTV all but in name. The content isn't engaging and IMO Ben hasn't enough gravitas to work with Suzanna. I'd move to a more news based ITN production produced by a different team to the one which moves from one breakfast reincarnation to the next. Improve the editorial standards and the show may flourish.
