GMB has done pre-recorded interviews before. Ok, not in the studio, .

Pretty sure the Barry Manilow interview in studio last week with Susanna was prerecorded a few days earlier. They've definitely prerecorded other interviews in the studio for the 8.20 slot.

I don't know whether they are starting to do this but I noticed that today in the TOTH's Charlotte and Ben alternated between reading the headlines.

Seems that they've introduced a new handover to the news with Charlotte, with a wideshot of Susanna and Ben introducing the top story (well, Charlotte's top story) and then saying "Here's Charlotte with the latest", and then at the end of the news, Charlotte time checks and hands back to Susanna and Ben. Very GMTV/classic Today Show.

Also, the Bette Midler interview was recorded in the 'demo' area, although I have never seen the coffee table before. The glass top looks like the other coffee table, but also looks very bog standard from Ikea.

...and even though Sean is in, Charlotte is on the weather side of the desk, and Sean is only joining for the sport.

I didn't see it, but that sounds good. That's basically what they've been doing for a while, but now with a proper handover. I always thought it looked a bit odd having Susanna and Ben doing the top story and then Charlotte doing all the other news off the back.

Obviously doing a more clearly-signposted 'news' role at the top of the hour doesn't make Charlotte any less a part of the team or stop her from doing other items on the show - just as it doesn't with Natalie Morales or Amy Robach on NBC/ABC.

Since when did they ditch the weather graphic? Screen space feels odd now. (Or was today a one off?)

It seems like all other attempts that bar the big desk it's back to being GMTV/TVam again.

The first ad break of the morning was at 6:19, thought it was usually at 6:50?

Yep, totally reverted back to the GMTV/Daybreak v2.0 format. Susanna even tweeted tonight, "tomorrow on GMB, all your news with Charlotte". It is such a shame that once again they did not stick with a new format and ride-out the poor ratings and give it time to build, like they said they would.
