Pre- recording some Christmas episodes maybe?

Why would they record christmas episodes? It's clearly an interview that will be shown in a few weeks.

Why would they not? I highly doubt GMB will be live anytime between Christmas and Jan 3rd, maybe 27th-30th but I highly doubt that.

It's a live breakfast show, they obviously wouldn't pre record shows for Christmas.

Lorraine pre recorded some previous Christmas episodes a couple of years ago so a live breakfast show can be pre-recorded and Lorraine is pre-recorded on Friday . We have never seen how this show handles Christmas , it is possible a couple of lighter editions could recorded , but it most likely is just an interview but it was just a suggestion.

The Big Breakfast always pre-recorded their Christmas shows. A hint of this would be that Christmas decorations would be up for a few days sometime in November.

Perhaps they could predict the future news for Christmas Day?

Rolling Eyes Laughing The shows they have got their inspiration from record their Christmas day show in advance, and transmit it with links to the days duty news anchor, usually a senior correspondent/low-level anchor. Wasn't that hard to figure out there would be a live hit for news during a prerecord...

You didn't say Christmas Day though, did you? You said "highly doubt" "any time between Christmas and Jan 3rd".

Crazy talk, especially about a show that was advertising itself just a few months ago as a place where "News Doesn't Sleep".

The festive promo (http://www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain/entertainment/deck-the-halls-of-good-morning-britain) ends with the line, "wake up to Good Morning Britain this Christmas-time" . It seems a fairly poor line to use if the show is going to be off air for a week or two around Christmas.

But we already know "Weekend" is being broadcast during the xmas period.

I thought that this would be replacing Lorraine in the 8:30 slot.

Tell me then why is it that this interview is pre-recorded?

I do get that some interviews are carried out prior to the show but still the way you put it. What I would add though is that when interviews are pre-recorded they tend not be carried out in the studio...

I don't know why everyone was so rude about his suggestion. I don't see why they wouldn't do a special such as something along the lines of "Christmas with GMB" in which the presenters dine with Jamie Oliver and discuss things relating to Christmas. ITV have been trying to promote the show for ages and maybe they're looking at alternatives ways of capturing the audience? When are they certain the whole family will be together watching the TV... Christmas! I'm not confident it'd be a normal show and instead could be a special show, even shown later, that tries to get people familiar with the presenters or something.

At the end of the day, I don't really think there is much reason to believe anything. No one actually knows and unless anyone has cold, hard facts they shouldn't be so quick to shut down other people's thoughts.

You do know the difference between pre-recording an entire programme and pre-recording a segment right?

Not true, even in the slightest. A lot of live programmes contain pre-recorded segments, including interviews shot in the same place as they're presented. And there are a million good reasons why this is done.

I don't know why everyone was so rude about his suggestion.

Because they clearly won't be doing a completely pre-recorded edition of the programme. If it was completely pre-recorded, you can pretty much guarantee there would be a major breaking news story and they'd have to start from scratch. Pre-recording a whole load of interviews and segments that can be slotted in around a few minutes of headlines and review is a normal way of doing these types of programme over Christmas.

Wow. This has all erupted, hasn't it?

GMB has done pre-recorded interviews before. Ok, not in the studio, but they have done them though.

There's nothing to suggest that this is any different to be honest.

Your completely ignoring a lot of what I was saying.

I certainly am not (and don't think Bazinga was either) saying that this would be a standard show. It could be a special edition that I clearly stated and therefore viewers would know it wasn't a typical show and expect any sort of breaking news updates.

I'm just saying this is actually a possibility in the same sense that on Christmas day GMB will broadcast all day long is, no one is saying it is going to happen it's just someone suggesting something and because no one directs the show no one can claim to be false. This is one bloody picture that implies many things and all of which are possibilities until the event actually takes place or some sort of clarification is made.

I think everyone just needs to calm down and respect each other and what they have to say, as opposed to presenting your own opinion as a solid fact.
