They seem to have dropped the studio shots before the break, now the graphics fade into the break. Looks rather messy imo.

I'm sure they've always faded straight to break from a VT, they still do a wide shot into the break if they previous shot is the studio too.

There's been no wide shot into the breaks.

Today maybe, recently there has been wide shots and there has been the Steadicam run around too.

They have been doing fade to black all this week, not sure how well its working considering that yesterday there was a 10 second black screen as they faded too early...

Yeah - just feels very commercial to start that early. A bit like seeing Easter Eggs in the shops in February. But GMB is only really there to flog advertising - so I can see why they would want to reflect the pre-Christmas commercial mood.

But still more than three weeks does feel a very long time to put the decorations up... Hope their viewers don't start suffering from Christmas fatigue...

Agreed. I do think that the GMB set will look very nice all decorated.

With the screen windows being turned off it looks like they are working away at night. Odd that the ticker stays on.

Many trees, I wonder if one will sit in front of the main window screen or if they'll use a garland across the window frame base.

In terms of the timescale with the BBC launching Christmas presentation next weekend, Phillip Schofield doing his text Santa launch, Christmas films already all over many channels, commercials already wishing us a merry Christmas rather than just advertising for presents, many houses with Christmas decorations already up and with many radio stations beginning Christmas playlists from Monday I think that they're just following suit.

When I think back to the late 90's it tended to be the third week in that shows started with presentation and decorations. I think it seems earlier as the first is on Monday. Presumably next year it'll be Monday 7th Dec. rather than Mon 30th Nov. but with Christmas getting earlier every year it may start to creep into November.

They've always went up on the first, for as long as I can remember. I know many go by 12 days before... although a few weeks out of the year is nothing Wink

Rather than the 1st I think it's usually the first Monday in December.
