Good Morning Britain "special" tomorrow with Susanna in Afghanistan.

No source - if true, wow! I though the field was way behind her.

Sorry, forgot to mention that it was announced by the continuity presenter (if that's what they're called) before tonight's NaT.

Very interesting, again, I thought the field was way past her. If I'm honest, I'd rather have John Stapleton in Afghanistan, the last time he was there, he was brilliant! The below clip shows that, the way he introduces the programme is enough evidence IMO . Kate Garraway, in a news role , no giggling?!?! Yes it is possible TV Forum, get over it.

Why would that be even remotely funny, Kate is a trained journalist, in a news role, back then and now. Not much to get your head around, is it.

When Kate was announced in her current GMB role, various TV Forumers acted as if it wasn't possible, or wasn't right and that her constant giggling would get in the way, that was my reference to giggling.

Checked out ITV+1 and it does appear Susanna will be in Afghanistan tomorrow morning for GMB...

They've just used the remixed headline bed for entertainment 'coming up'

Ben is on Lorraine today with her instead of GMB because of her 30th presenting anniversary.

I am wondering if the London look may be edited as we head towards the dark mornings. I wonder if a nighttime look will appear or if they will put colours behind instead.

It doesn't appear to as 6am is pretty dark at the moment.

If they ever did surely they'd only go for an early dawn appearance so that it's not too dark.

Given the show started in April when it was early summer the 6am titles matched that.

Now we are pushing dark but once winter kicks in the 6am open won't reflect the scene outside people's windows in anyway so I wonder if they will do an alternative one for winter. If they did they could use it in future - given the London skyline doesn't change much.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that London's skyline is probably changing at the fastest rate it ever has.

Quite. Kate and Matthew Amroliwala shared 1900-2200 (I think) presenting duties in the early days of News 24. Kate is definitely a perfectly competent news presenter and journalist. She may have chosen a different career path - but I have very little doubt of her abilities in that regard. She may not call on them as often as others, and may have a lighter touch, but I wouldn't doubt her ability in a newsier role at all.

The problem that all broadcasters have had in the past is that it doesn't look good in the morning to have a dark view.

Interesting revelation going into the 7:27 regional news fallback on ITV.com, the loop there is actually the background with the stripes shooting across the screen with the pulsing GMB logo overlaid live. It is the same for the sunrise shot that they usually fill the big plasma screen with.

That's what it's always been like since launch on ITV.com.
