Good Morning Britain - the launch

I understand that. But ITV are hardly committed, they simulcasted STV's overnight's programme. In some sense's they are committed, but on the other hand they aren't.

It's good to see they've pooled resources with ITN this morning and used regular ITV News correspondents this morning, I've been watching since 7.45 and GMB has been very good today, they've got the balance right.

They have cut to the first ad break of the morning.

Regional news at 8.30.

I don't know if there was a blip at 9.25, but the adverts at 9.45 on Granada are regional and not national.

Great coverage from GMB today, the show felt like a rolling news channel. From what i've seen there were no ads at 6 or 7. I can't imagine Daybreak could have covered it as well, presentation wise. It all now ties in closer with itv news and essentially felt like an ITV news special. Ben was quite clearly out of his depth, John would have been a much more suitable choice, but it's clear itv want to push Ben and Susanna as the main presenters (imo).

Nonsense - you are missing the point! What would be strange would be to have Tom in the studio and Ben out in the field at Downing St. It was not exactly an interview, Ben asked a question and Tom did his stuff and gave his analysis of the PM's speech. It worked - it was the correct way for it to work.
