Well, the weather screen does show relevant pictures when Sean is doing the sport section and the seat on the sofa side is sort of the newsreaders seat because Charlotte read news on Sky News, Ranvir did on Daybreak and Kate did on GMTV

It would have been much more useful to have a screen behind the newsreader, than it is to be behind the sports presenter. Sean
rarely
uses the screen, and has recently started moving about the studio for sport.
Yeah, even if the screen was just one of the screens that hangs when they are on the sofa that would work, because they are movable because when Sean was in brazil on the TOTH, one of them used to be in his spot then it would switch to him in brazil

As PATV mentioned they could just use one of those moveable screens that hang from the ceiling if they really wanted to. I don't see the point in having a screen there as the onscreen graphics do the job.
A still from todays programme hidden entrance into the performance area:
Yes, the on-screen graphics are there but sometimes there is no pre-recorded report on some stories so there is no on-screen graphic that appears. Also like the weather screen with sports, it can fade through relevant images
Looks like they're backpeddling on the idea of there being a team of four presenters instead of two presenters and a headline reader and sports reader a bit, with the camera focusing only on the main two presenters rather than the four after the TOTH now.
Not really...they are now shown as a team on the hour.
And then subsequently they disappear during the post-TOTH chat and do not reappear unless there's a weather presenter in the studio, in which case they have to appear, but as they're not part of it they just sit there.
There is very little post-Toth chat anymore, they just launch into the top story, sometimes they do a little coming up sequence where all 4 are part of it. I still cannot understand for the life of me why Charlotte isn't on the side with the weather screen.
Charlotte isn't sat at the side where the weather screen is because, in general it's male female, male, female.
I don't know for the life of me, why i dignified this with a response, about who sits where or why someone doesn't sit at a certian area of the desk, however.

Of course, it is generally that order, BUT. it would have made more sense to give the newsreader the monitor to display the topical graphics.
Was a perfectly valid question regarding where a presenter sits, unlike the question in the BBC World News thread about two ways...
Well if you positioned the camera correctly you could use one of the smaller screens that show the London background, because instead of facing the desk Charlotte, Ranvir or Kate could position the camera so that it is directly facing the background and then use a lower screen to display images and possibly headlines. Just a thought

Don't know how easy that would be to position the camera that way, good idea though.
I assumed the reason for the screen (previously discussed, Daybreak Weather screen) behind the main presenters would of been used for this purpose and then have the 'hanging' screens to act in a similar way to 7 Sunrise in Australia.

There's a 'presenter rota' section in TV Forum - maybe you'd be best discussing seat positions of the presenters there.
I do think that the hanging screens should be used in a different way because all they do at the moment is either show the Good Morning Britain Logo in Yellow & Purple or a special slide to tell you what is happening (like today with Dr. Hilary), but I think they could use these screens for images
