The comments on the Radio Times website are slating GMB.... only a couple of positive comments.
I've been watching for 45 mins now and I reckon visually it's good, vibrant and modern. But every thing is quick, too quick. There's a balance between holding attention for long enough vs needing to move on to the next bit, but everything is like a minute long. Weather, Local News, political interview, interview with the family, richard arnold, andi peters. To me so far, it;s been TOO fast paced so you don't get a chance to connect with what's happening before they've moved you to something else. And Charolotte seems to have done more in these 45 mins than Susanna - and seems more at ease with the whole thing.

Agree about the pace.

They are treading a fine line, attempting to make it newsier to attract new viewers and keeping enough showbiz fluff to hold onto the mums. The danger of that of course is it pleases no one.

It would be a start if they ditch the Andi Peters segments, they add nothing.

I've been watching since 6am, and not once have I got annoyed or bored by it. I used to turn over from Daybreak after a few minutes due to its severe inanity...
ASO, oflahertya and rob gave kudos

What I've noticed is that they haven't shown any links to social media, just the little big by the clock. No sight of '@gmb' or the facebook link or email address?!

Isn't that a new background for New York?

Susanna's close up is a bit tight isn't it? Perhaps because the four presenters are so close together it's not possible to frame it looser and get the graphic in without getting Ben in shot?

New overnight. New this morning. I should hope so, it’s called NEWS for a reason. I think they need to drop this vacuous 'tags'.

I totally agree. Of course it's a 'developing story', of course it's 'new overnight'. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be on the news. These tags are pointless unless they're going to add one that says 'no update' or 'nothing to add'.

'Breaking news' should be used when something has just happened but details aren't clear. Michael Jackson's death was "breaking news". A fire, 12 hours ago in Sheffield, is not.

They should put a subtle gradient behind the OTS which would cover the shoulders of other presenters up.

I think the programme is not sure of lengths of features. They seem scared of long-form news items, which makes the programme seem too lightweight to me.

The journalist in me says to me that the news stories need to be developed throughout the morning, but there have been no new developments or interviews. The feature about the fake goods in the 6am hour was quickly dumped. Another disadvantage of this is that they can't complement news summaries with clips with 'Earlier on GMB' because they aren't following up stories. The news content is superficial, and repetitive.

The show is hardly news-driven, it's piecemeal.

Give the 6am hour of Daybreak credit where it's due, they packed the studio with guests and used the clips throughout the morning with news-relevant stories. The news stories on the show are diluted, and world news coverage is very poor indeed. News coverage in the Newshour of Daybreak was a lot heavier than this time round.

Lorraine's studio is massive! Looks a bit of a furniture shop and cluttered, but nice colour scheme.

No viewer comments. They keep on plugging social media, but not actually reading any out. It seems like they don't care about the viewers or their comments. It seems a bit distant and not connecting with the viewer.
