Noticed this morning the ITV logo is on the right side of the screen.

I think it's been like that since Day 2..

Meridian News has replaced the opt out music on ITV.com, no idea if it is just accidental or not...

One theory is that it was done in the style of a BBC soft-opt.

TV-AM put out the first caption, BT Birmingham send that to Central as well as to the TX. Central genlock to that and put it on their output. BT switch Central to the TX, they fade to black and then bring up their own slide scanner and music.

It's possible, though it's rather a lot of effort to go to, for something the few viewers watching would have paid any attention to !

I wonder if standard procedure was for TV-am to play out the caption until 09:19:55 then fade to black, and for the ITV regions to output black until 09:20:05 then fade up their version of the same caption ?

In regions where BT were able to perform electronic switches (almost certainly the case for Birmingham) they'd perform the switch at 09:20:00 ? Doesn't explain why there's no visible splat in that video, but perhaps that day TV-am and Central were by chance more or less in sync ?!

Music has returned for the 5 to 8 opt.

Susanna didn't speak fast enough on the last headline so the VoiceOver cut her off at 8am open.

In fairness it is a fairly crap piece of graphical buggery. Either use less text or a bigger box. It's so Chapter 1 Page 1 of graphic design.

If you have nothing nice to say there is no point saying anything at all.

Its not difficult to type the correct channel or check to make sure the text fits the box!

Sometimes I wish there was some way people like yourself could get the opportunity to sit at the back of the gallery of a live national broadcast, because then you'd realise how these sort of tiny, inconsequential errors happen. But then again, you'd probably be outraged at the number of them that happen but that are impossible to spot sat at home.

With graphics, it's very likely that the first time anyone has looked at them properly is when it's called up onto the screen. There isn't a department of people dedicated to approving each and every graphic before the director can call for it.

These things happen, it's all very well grabbing them and pointing them out, but the only party who should "get a grip" is yourself if you think these are important / major mistakes.

Yes I understand, I was just pointing it out. Some people like to see these things others not.
