I have never hated the "news where you are" crossover more. Four times I have heard John say the same joke - that was barely funny the first time - whilst crossing to Kelly Ann Woodland for the STV News. He claims that Kelly Ann is "no doubt loving the commonwealth victory" and then smirks, each time she has replied in annoying fashion. It was nice once but after that just John saying now STV News... and her saying thanks would be acceptable.

How many regional areas are there? That must be a pain for the presenter to have to record a new crossover video for each region each day. Surely, "now the news where you are" would be fine?

The idea of course with a breakfast show at 6-8:30am is that nobody is up and just watching the whole show, if you're up at anytime of GMB length you tend to be most likely going to work or possibly even getting the kids up or going out for the day. I can't imagine anyone really watches for more than hour hence why news and weather is repeated on the half hour etc.
Apart from us on TVF I bet nobody watches the whole of GMB. Therefore, the 'joke' on the Scotland news link was relevant still.

Dunno why the have never extended Martin's slot, always such a rush. New straps today for that (new for me at least)...

I think they've been like that since the first week.

Yeah I guess you are right about the length of time people watch it.

However, for us here that still is annoying haha.

I think Martin's style means he always sounds like he's in a rush. You could give him double the time and he'd just give you twice as much information at the same speed!
TV Archive and bilky asko gave kudos

He has the same style on this morning too. Maybe he's just a naturally fast speaker Wink

Sean's last day in Glasgow tomorrow I'd imagine?

I'd say perhaps Monday to cover Sunday night's closing ceremony.

I went down to the Clyde today and basically spent the morning with Sean which was incredible. Today was has last show in Glasgow and after the show he headed to the airport. He is now on holiday and will not be back until next week or the week after IIRC. I was talking to him all things GMB and ratings he is such a nice guy like you'd expect. I asked when we could expect the main 4 back together and he said he suspects mid-August but wasn't too sure.

Great experience and if any one is interested he explained that he loved being in Glasgow and thinks they might do something in Edinburgh - not him - for the referendum in September, he said possibly 2 presenters would come up and present from there - only a possibility.

Only Charlotte and Ben in the studio, with Laura in Folkestone.

Personally, I think it's really weird with only 2 of them despite being used to just 2 presenters with ITV Breakfast up until 3 months ago. I think the studio seems really empty and you can really see the size of that desk when it misses another member at each side.
