I suppose they would put up these signs for the public to know what really is happening?

Something similar, I remember seeing pictures at the cordons of the Johnny English Reborn set and it was a standardised sign with information from Film London (or something) and the local council and just had a sticker saying 'JOHNNY ENGLISH 2' in a space after 'The following production is filming in the area today'

Do GMB have to have the local authorities approval to cordon off the area? If so would they have just provided general approval for so many weeks/months at a time?

I was thinking the same thing too. ITV seems to use that area a lot so maybe they have permission to use it whenever they like.

I've realised one of GMB's flaws (although it isn't really their fault), most morning shows across the world are extended for breaking news/special coverage. Recently the Australian Today Show was extended to 11am to cover MH17 and the American Today Show usually replace the later hours with continuing special coverage in all time zones. ITV just aren't committed enough to extend GMB through Lorraine and even through Jeremy Kyle to This Morning, where they can link up with Alastair Stewart or Nina Hossain.

They've not really had a developing story breaking in the morning to warrant it though. I've no doubt they'd drop Lorraine if they had to (as I'm sure GMTV did when it needed to), but if coverage continued beyond that it would be ITV News replacing Jeremy Kyle, not GMB.

I guess, but if STV and UTV agreed to let GMB continue past 9:25 then I'd hope ITV would let GMB excel for another hour.

I've just seen the "because news doesn't sleep" advert on ITV and noticed one of the presenters using an Absolut Vodka pen - It's even a close up shot of the pen writing on paper.

I know it's like 4am, but that's no time for vodka guys

Seems an odd tagline when they don't have a 24 hour news channel. Do they still do the updates overnight?
