Interesting story by the mirror about Susanna and why GMB fails...

Well the last 145 pages have been filled with comments about how the shows woes are all down to the length of Susanna's skirt and her lack of nodding.

Just looking at those press shots from the launch, it looks like the sofa is slightly longer. Was there an extra section of the sofa that was removed or am I just imagining things? Smile

I like this bit at the end of the article....

“And it is felt the focus on news is out of sync with what the British public want – more weather, fun stories, competitions and fluff.”

The exact opposite of what Susanna did at the BBC in fact...

So... the British public want more competitions and fluff... do we..???

Yep, looks like they can add or take away pieces of the sofa.
Basically, if they get scared and want to revert back to a cosier format, they don't have to shell money out on a new couch Wink
Although, i'm hoping it doesn't come to that!

Presumably the sofa is also modular to allow it to be moved more easily. A single unit that size would be a real pain to set/strike or repo should you need that space for a different item.

Yeah I understand why the sofa would be built in sections, I just thought it seemed strange that if there is the option to have a longer sofa, why when there's several guests do they try and cram everyone onto it. Why not just add in that extra section and make things look a little less cramped, sometimes Susanna is nearly falling off the edge of the seat!

In relation to the old GMTV set, the GMB desk is in the position of the old stairs, the GMB sofa, the glass doors and the one-on-one area is where the GMTV sofa was. Laura's weather monitor is in the position of the GMTV newsdesk and the 'demo' area is in the same position as the GMTV one.

And that's why I have never and will never buy a tabloid newspaper.

Absolutely woeful conclusion.

If the British public want more of that garbage, why is Breakfast smashing Good Morning Britain on the ratings side of things?...

I would pay to see that.

Edit: not in a weird way - it would be so funny.

I also love that the heart of the "report" is this:

"It must have worked, because the day’s viewing figure rose by 70,000 to 600,000, a 15.3% share. It was also up 80,000 on the previous Thursday."

Bearing in mind that BARB does not have boxes with every single home so scales up figures for an average, so it could be that just 80 more people happened to watch ITV that morning. Not purely because "SUSANAS LEGS WERE ON SHOW IN OUR DAILY FAIL EXCLUSIVE"

Urgh.
Stuart, Brekkie and ASO gave kudos
