I have been liking the outside presentation, only thing is does take away from the unquie four person team. Although usually Sean is a spare part anyways but the third person (Charlotte, Kate, Ranvir) has always been integrated more and I liked that. Today Ranvir only appeared in news slot at each half hour.
Personally moving forward I'd like to see three main presenters (with Sean with sport, Richard with entertainment, weather with Laura moving to the desk and members of the reporting team moving to the fourth seat at the desk during their slots)

I agree with the 3 main presenter set up. However, I think today's and yesterday's outdoor presentation has shown how more informal and comfortable it is having two lead presenters for large parts of the show. Interestingly, ratings for yesterday was the highest of the week with an average of just under 600,000 including +1. There are a lot of core viewers who simply do not like the formal desk set up even if the content isn't radically different from Daybreak. As we've said it takes a long time for viewers to settle into new show. I know others would disagree but I would like them to differentiate the presentation. For example, making the first hour more newsier based from the main desk. Then after 7 have to two main presenters lead from the sofa handing over to newsreader for a summary of the headlines. It would give the whole programme more structure in my opinion.

I've liked the smaller, taller desk with breakfast items - though why nobody drinks the juice is odd. I'd like to see that little area trialed in the studio, maybe in the underused performance area.

Seeing the scenes of Ed Sheeran performing on the Today show's Concert series makes me wonder if during the summer they could replace a Lorraine show, even if a Friday edition and air it as a standalone special to seperate the ratings, etc.

I don't really watch other UK breakfast shows apart from GMB, but do they have musical performances or is ITV just being different. I quite liked it with Daybreak but if they wanted GMB to be more newsier I guess thats why it was dropped.

And I agree, the performance area and also that soft area (which was only used once I think on Day 1) should be used a lot more. Pointless them being there if they aren't getting used to their full potential.

Breakfast certainly does have music at the end of the show - especially at the weekend.

The 'Demo' area as its known has been used several times for a number of different items.

I think having 2 lead presenters is much better to be honest. And in fact this is more like how NBC's Today Show does it afaik.

Yep - keep the big desk, but have Charlotte/Ranvir stick with the 10 minute news bulletin, and Shaun and Laura can swap seats for their bits.

I really liked the outdoor shows, and felt that Susanna and Ben were much more prominent and had much better chemistry as a result. I think this sometimes gets lost with the usual format - although I do think Charlotte is great and capable of more than just reading the news.

Do we really need a promo-watch?

They've been running all afternoon, it almost every ad break I've seen.

I do think Ben and Susanna have great chemistry...from day one actually. There have been so many awkward pairings on the various itv breakfast shows it's good to see one which works.

that's surely the hardest thing to get right... But they have.

A programme of this type shouldn't be built around the presenters: as they come and go, and by their very nature have to change during the week and when people are on leave.

A reliance (or perceived reliance) on the presenters has perhaps been the failing of ITV/GMTV attempts over the last few years.

It's very nice if you have a pairing which works well, but wouldn't you expect every journalist or presenter to be professional enough to work with someone else on screen? I don't care whether or not they are sticking pins in a 'voodoo doll' of their colleague backstage.

BBC Breakfast seem to be trying out quite a lot of pairings at the moment, especially during/following Bill's stint in Afghanistan, but it hasn't changed the programme.

When I'm getting ready in the bathroom I can just hear someone reading out a script with the news, then Carol with the weather, then later my local presenter. I'm not watching the screen, so they could be 'Kang & Konos' from the Simpsons for all I know.

I don't care whether they are in a studio in Salford or London, on a beach, sat by the Thames or sat on Mars. Their location is really not going to have any impact on what I am expecting from them or their ability to deliver it to me.

ITV seem to want to produce an entertainment show during the morning. If I was in the mood for entertainment at that time of day, then I probably wouldn't be getting ready for work: and if I didn't have a job to get up for, then I wouldn't even be awake.
