Thanks for reminding me just how much I love GMB's titles, the music, and the set!

That's actually a really good promotional video, imo. Although with these ads only airing in England, how would the viewers in different parts of the UK see this, and think to give it a try.. ITV need some sort of advertising on STV/UTV. imo.

There is no promotion on stv which is a great shame! GMB is a refreshing change but they need to stay news focused.....It lost the plot with the England world cup crap!

Open mic issue at the 6:52 into break, and then STV decide to cut in over the pollen count at 6:56.

Looks like stv cut too early......

OR GMB was running late.

AFAIK GMB opts aren't automated?

STV decide to cut in over the pollen count at 6:56.

Did they play the bit with Benny Sheppard introducing the region by name or did they go straight in to the STV news?

OR GMB was running late.

Are you suggesting that all [STV] opts are automated and Good Morning Britain usually hit their junctions accurately to the exact second or are you suggesting that the person whose job it is to press the button at STV got fed up with waiting?

Stage 2 national campaign begins tonight

'Stage 2 late' I'd call it.

Don't give up the day job

Sorry but it's absolutely true. I was fully supportive of GMB when it launched, and I watched it for about a week before the novelty wore off (as many here said would happen). The format and style is just not gelling with the audience. There is no chance of its popularity turning around on any great scale without a massive retooling.

Yes they did. GMB played the weather sting for the pollen report and then STV crashed in with the GMB sting with the helicopter shot of London (why not Glasgow?!).

I think GMB was running a little late, STV got fed up of waiting and opted, then when they realised they had extra time at the end of the opt, they recapped the top story.

It doesn't need major retooling. It just needs time to bed in properly, and settle down. They're still tweaking it at the moment, and in my honest opinion, they are doing all this at the right time, when television viewing is at it's lowest ebb in the year. Come September when the 'new season' officially starts, I think everything will be nailed down, and you'll see probably the stage 3 campaign begin then to seriously attract people back to GMB.

Or STV were doing things by the book this morning and opt out at the time there were told to do so.

Nah, from January 2013 onwards (when STV returned to morning TV) their opts have always been in keeping the the main programmes time. If Daybreak/GMB overran but 2 minutes, STV held the opt by 2 minutes, it was a lot more noticeable during the Daybreak era when the opt was scheduled for 6:07(?) and some days they wouldn't end up opting until 6:15.

The hashtag '#GMBNewsDoesntSleep' is basically copying CBS This Morning and their '#newsisback' and '#newsisbackinmornings'. Expect an Eye Opener soon...

Oh god. These hashtags are horrific. What's the point if only GMB will be tweeting that hashtag? #cringe
