To be fair, I thought Sean Fletcher was a bit of a left-field choice. If he was just sport then fine, but as one of the 'main four' on the desk for the duration is a surprise. As all he did at Sky Sports News was usually the graveyard shift. He didn't really do much else. Solid but unspectacular.

I agree - why don't they put him on the sofa? 3 people at the desk has been working well... Lots of people seem to think that 4 at the desk is a bit silly! Maybe just stick him at the desk for the TOTH?

There's no need to do everything at the sofa. I've liked the seat being filled on odd occasions by others like Richard, Laura & Dr. Hilary. Many they could bring more into the desk. I feel I'm in the minority as I'd like to see them using more areas again too.

But they do most things at the desk... What do you mean?

They do the headlines and openers at the desk, any items are done on the sofa. It would be nice to see the other areas used.

Yes - I agree with that - you could have sport in the really underused performance area.

They should use the interview area much more in general, imo.

No one calls "The Hydro" in Glasgow "The SSE Hydro", just like no one will call "Wembley Arena" "The SSE Arena, Wembley"

True....though on the flip side, sponsorship can stick too. Everyone still calls the Phones4u Manchester Arena the MEN.

That's true, a very successful bit of branding, although it helps that the previous (and first) sponsor didn't stick around for long and it was sponsored by the MEN for quite a long while.

I reckon, similarly, that if the Echo Arena in Liverpool ever gets a new sponsor most people will continue calling it the Echo Arena.

Just as much as Bolton's The Reebok Stadium will continue to be said, although from Tuesday it will be the Macron Stadium!

Flipping it again though, Sports Direct Arena never caught on in Newcastle and it eventually reverted back to St. James' Park. People are creatures of habit!

A little different when it comes to sporting venues, particularly football. Its very emotive when it comes to places like St. James' Park. Many fans will feel like they're turning their back on history. In Bolton's and Arsenal's case, they were brand new stadia and with no history attached and so branding made it much easier.
