I'm not sure about the new wipes. They don't look as polished, and it's odd that you see the reporter fully before crossing to them. It's brought back the old daybreak wipe noise though.
The live bug and headline caption no longer line up either.
I agree about the clock should have come out to the right. Presumably they've moved it how it is for the people who complained that there was no clock.
I think the clock and and logo look really stupid. If they really want the ticker to go right along they should lower the clock and logo and have the clock over the ticker. (Going through it if that makes sense)
Hmm I've never been a fan of tickers going the entire way across the screen - IMO they look messy when everything else is left aligned. Prefer the previous placement of graphics.
Clock goes over the good morning britain logo here in the stv local news. I agree with others, they ruin a perfectly good graphics package with something much worse. It clearly doesn't fit in imo. They must believe people aren't watching because the graphics are too 'flashy, and makes them dizzy' ;)also, worth noting it's practically like daybreak never left, competitions, showbiz stories constantly..
For me the ticker going across the entire screen looks rather lazy amongst graphics that look neat and tidy! The itv.com/GMB and #gmb graphic didn't even catch my eye after a watching a few times! IMO they should stick with what they had.
Also, I personally love the new top story graphic but in agreement with the new live transitions
Why, oh why, would you mess with a perfectly nice graphics package? The ticker looks awful going all the way across, and the clock overlapped the GMB logo during the regional news transition here in STV land.
They always seem to tweak a good graphic and ruin it, they changed the 2012 clock weeks after re-launch too. I'm really not keen on this.
Absolutely agree - not sure how they think this is better. It just looks wrong, especially as it seems to be 4:3 safe rather than 16:9, where they might get away with it. There seems to be no logic in extending the ticker yet restricting the rest of the graphics to the centre.
