Today's show from 7 onwards was full of showbiz fluff, i knew they'd revert back to this. There was no in depth news stories covered from after 7:10, i never cought the first hour, so can't say anything about that. But very different from launch day, and not in a good way. imo.

I watched GMB until around 10 minutes ago, I switched over to Sunrise which I never do. Their paper review is great and I actually really like the format. They need to have something like this on GMB with a couple of guests and there are some great laughs going on. I was pleasantly surprised.

Thank you - we aim to please!

Yeah I'm always interested in what the X factor warm up guy has to say about the morning's papers. Rolling Eyes

Well perhaps you can do better then. There's no reason why couldn't. But you don't.

That's a matter of opinion isn't it.

Well you have to try things, surely. You can't revert to showbiz fluff 100% of the time because that didn't help last time. And saying that ITV could do a paper review even better than Sky's is not a matter of opinion.

I watched the first hour for the first time this morning and it was excellent IMO. Although the World Cup Song was annoying and so is the countdown.

Don't really see the need to attack Sky, let alone people who work for them. They're obviously not going to reach the same ratings as BBC or ITV could, and therefore provide a different alternative from both of the main channels.

From around December 2012, I reverted to Sunrise following Daybreak's relaunch. That was a show full of showbiz fluff. One which I couldn't stand. Today, I found GMB actually rather enjoyable, I put it down to Kate.
From the GMB website, today's stories were
Quote:
England manager Roy Hodgson says the three lions are "armed and dangerous" as pressure mounts for the squad

Tensions continue to rise in the Middle East as Iraq looks to the West for help and, calls on the US to launch air strikes against militants

Ed Miliband declares war on jobless youngsters and vows to scrap their benefits unless they join training schemes

David Cameron will launch the world's biggest study into dementia today - to help speed up the development of new drugs and treatments

And, are they or aren't they? Three months after they split, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin could be on the verge of ''Consciously re-coupling''

The only story I disagree with there is the Chris and Gwyneth story, which is funnily enough the only showbiz story. Obviously there was the Mrs Brown's Boys feature, which I didn't feel felt out of place.

Also, as Eamonn said on Sunrise once I flicked over at 8:30, today is one of those days where sport is news. The England match is big news, and just as that might not neccessarily appeal to the other nations, it does massively to England. News outlets can't just neglect what is big news somewhere, becuase it isn't desired by somewhere else.

And having watched all 3 breakfast shows this morning, I thought Sunrise was just as good as the other two (shame about regional news though)

At least they bother to do a paper review. And it's done very well too.

But of course, Kate really added something to GMB today and that was lovely to watch.

I agree with what you've said about Kate, she fits in very well with the show Especially with the chemistry with Ben.
When i watched from 7, there was the Mrs Brown's boys movie interview, which i actually rather enjoyed. Although, the waxworks of David and Victoria Beckham, was on at 7:40, and in my opinion was tedious and a complete waste of air time.

Loved Kate's little gaffe today over how to pronounce "D'Movie", thinking it was a play on B-Movie, Ben naturally corrected her! You're always guaranteed a good show with Ben and Kate.

Guess you had to be there.

God, Kate's got a right little fan club hasn't she. Sadly at least one of them works for ITV as it's exactly the things that some people seem to love about her that others, including myself, can't stand. From what I've seen so far Ranvir is a much better stand in.

Anything on last weeks ratings? According to comments made on here, the ratings for 13/06/14 were supposedly good?
