Finally! Today's top story isn't 'We're too fat' or 'You're raising your child wrong'. Instead GMB is covering the Iraq crisis as the top story.
Although the second is changes to school lunches. But I can live with that.

Me too - definitely the right call. And, to be fair, the school lunches story is big everywhere this morning.

I was less convinced by the 'highway robbers in Spain' story, though. It's almost as if they have a quota of one alarmist story per day (yesterday it was the dangers of washing your chicken, and last week there was 'is your sun cream still killing you?').

I also noticed that Charlotte did all the news at 7am apart from the top story, which I thought worked well. Has this become a regular thing?

Worth noting that on the regional introductions Ben is name checking the regions now, well certainly on Granada anyway.

Never understood why he didn't do that in the first place really? Makes sense. Wonder if they record separate intros for Tyne Tees and Border or if won't get a region check

He is also name-checking "STV News" too.

Ben's off tomorrow. I imagine that means John will be in the centre seat.

Sean has strained his knee in Brazil, will he still be on tomorrow do you think?

Presenting doesn't tend to require physical work at the knee. They've paid for him to go all the way there. He ain't exactly gonna be popular at ITV if he doesn't present because he hurt his knee.

Yes but we know what Health and Safety are like with things like this, but yes you're probably correct, I'm sure he will still be on.

He is over there for a reason , I could imagine even if he was in a hospital bed he would do a report over the phone...

What are health and safety like with these things, exactly?

Maybe i was over exaggerating. Also, i liked the bit Susanna did today with Penfold, really shows the lighter side of the show.
