I actually liked the weather thing at the beginning of GMB - But I have changed my mind about and think they should only have them for the regional news as, to state the obvious, living in the south of England - I really do not care what the weather is like in Glasgow. If they had the towns in only your region it would be fine and it would declutter for the main show.

I find the weather graphic useful, but it would be a lot nicer if it was regionalised, as in showing the cities only in your region. I doubt that they'll ever bother though.

Useful for people travelling though.
owainshenton and VMPhil gave kudos

The weather bug is done well in comparison to foreign versions. The only problem I have with it is when it's quite obviously a nice hot day across the country it seems a bit redundant. On the whole though I think the lower thirds are done well - they're there but they're not too intrusive.

On those days they usually replace the chance of rain with the UV forecast. Maybe instead of the forecast on a widely hot day they could have the pollen count?

If you are travelling somewhere outside your region then you look online. More detailed and you can look when you want. I never travel without looking at the online forecast.

I agree with dvboy. We're a mobile nation now, so it's useful for people travelling outwith their home region.

I prefer "born mobile".

Urgh. Justin Beiber and baby bumps. What a riveting agenda.

Urgh. Justin Beiber.

What's worse is that they're getting all in a huff over a comment he made when he was 15 years old!

Is it a slow news day today?

I disagree on the graphics point. A ticker - news channels have this, and it's useful. Weather updates, again useful and hardly intrusive in the bottom corner of the screen (especially now they've toned the animations right down).

Comparing little watched news channels to a what is supposed to be a mainstream show? I think the producers have a similar mentality hence why GMB is rating even worse than Daybreak.
After the content, the graphic overload is the worst thing about GMB and the weather update is utterly pointless. Sunrise and Breakfast did them 13+ years ago and they were dropped for a reason. It must look absolutely ridiculous on small screens.

I think I've stepped back in time then, because that "little watched" news channel called Sky News displays the weather by town on the ticker during Sunrise when it's not displaying breaking news.

GMB could be replaced by cartoons if it doesn't reach it's 15% share target.
