That looks really nice. Much more space for people joining debates. I hope it fits in well with the screen as it looks like this desk doesn't curve in the same way.
I also hope the 6:00 programme can still utilise the screen as effectively as before.
Erron also says there'll be some 'screen updates' - do you think that means on-screen graphics, or changes in the plasma screens on-set.
Also, I think the sofa corner of the set could really be used more than it is. Maybe an additional curved screen like NBC Today Studio 1A's (albeit smaller).
We’ll have to wait to see what changes there are. I’ll be watching for the first time in a while tomorrow, I’ve recently been watching Channel 4’s comedy output instead and have particularly gone off the argumentative route that GMB has gone down. As for the sofa area, isn’t this Doctor Hillary’s area? I imagine it’ll be a while before we see the sofa return because of social distancing for the crew, especially if the new desk and platform take up a larger proportion of GMBs space in the studio.
I’m still unsure how easily the old credenza was moved (as seen on the recent COVID commemoration piece), and where it was moved to as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of storage space. I imagine the desk was removed easily, whereas the new one might not be so easy to move, though Jeremy Vine’s show removes and installs their large desk every day.
Am I the only person thinking they've taken inspiration from the set of Sky's League of their Own?
Interested to see how it presents / reads on screen, but it looks a shambles!
The straight edges of the desk and background element (what used to be a credenza) certainly don’t match the curve of the video wall and other elements of the studio

Worth pointing out that the new background element/credenza and desk is curved (at least according to the images), it was just a bit hard to build it in the software without taking a bit more time.
