Good Morning Britain

The 'ten minutes of gold' (as Piers once called it) was 18 minutes, today. Seems a bit excessive? It just seems right to start with the news but, then, GMB prides itself on being different. - plus, it grabs tabloid headlines.

On a positive, the opener was nice. Almost the full 2014 theme.

And we wonder why Piers hasn't got a late night talk show yet.

Seems the ticker isn’t displaying today. Hope it returns soon as I find it very informative.

So that was why the local news started at close to 6:30. I thought the timings had changed. It really does need to stop.

There was a new "The Conversation Continues" sting into the break. Looks an awful lot better than the old one in my opinion.

Caught the 7am TOTH, the changes to the graphics are a little messy in my opinion. They’ve clearly tried to emulate the Today/GMA style, but it doesn’t quite work. The shot of TVC in the titles is a little too summer-like for a September morning. The new ‘conversation continues’ graphic is a vast improvement.

It’s refreshing to have Piers back, the program has certainly been missing him over the summer.

8am titles featuring Television Centre.

There's just SO much going on. Too much. You can't read the text when it animates that fast. It was always a distracting mess in the USA and this version is no better.

The date also appears over the transition which is bothering me a little.

I quite like the TOTH graphics refresh works nicely, I didn't however like the extended desk and by 6.12am 6 people sat round it!

I quite liked the new titles and the way they animated, and even though there is a lot going on, I think they’re much better than the previous ones.
