Whatever you think of Mr Moron, the programme is certainly an easier watch with him on it. When he's off, they revert to the UK breakfast tv rulebook of cheesy nonsense.
And of course, Breakfast’s strength is that - regardless of who is presenting - you pretty much know what to expect. But that’s the risk of basing GMB around the main presenters. They clearly want somebody who is Piers’ deputy (hence Adil popping up last week). Maybe they need to sign Julia Morris up!

I can't quite believe I'm saying this but when Morgan is on, it's the only time to watch.
They need to let Ben & Kate go I think. Focus on the partnership of Morgan & Susanna & (if they can persuade him) Eamonn & Charlotte.

Richard Madeley and Charlotte might be a better pairing for Friday’s, Richard is more similar to Piers and would give the program more consistency. Charlotte is perfectly capable as the second female presenter (as shown in the first year of GMB), but could perhaps be a little more feisty/assertive in interviews.
Given that Madeley hasn’t appeared at all over the summer, are we to assume that he’s since changed his mind about joining the program? Unless he is set to start in September (although that seems unlikely).

Yes it’s surprising that Madeley hasn’t appeared yet over the summer, there’s always next week where he might show up. Because you’d hope for September it’d be consistent with the regular line up for at least a few weeks, so no room for guest presenters. However, Adil Ray seems to be lined up for another guest stint, he seemed to suggest in a few weeks so I’m assuming he’s not on next week (27th August W/C). And since Adil Ray is presenting again it suggests Madeley may not be joining the team after all.

I thought it was said Madeley wouldn't join until September?

Did ITV not say this story was total rubbish?
I don’t think they responded at the time, and the article from The Sun is still online. It doesn’t specify a time scale, but I assumed it meant over the summer as the article says he is covering Piers’ holidays.
A quick Google search shows a recent article in The Spectator written by Madeley, which closes with: ‘
Richard Madeley hosts Good Morning Britain on ITV1 this autumn
’. Piers usually takes three weeks off in October to film Killer Women, so Richard may be set to cover that.

And I wonder if Piers will also be doing a documentary for two years of President Trump.
