Adil Ray has been confirmed as the second presenter next Monday and Tuesday with Ranvir.

Yes you heard me right. The maker of the sitcom Citizen Khan. I’m not aware of any journalistic capabilities at all.

I mean the article states,
Quote:
Ray, who began his career in broadcast journalism for the BBC before turning his attention to comedy, is relishing the opportunity to step in as a substitute on GMB.

Wikipedia doesn’t really have much journalistic work listed but has presented radio before BBC Asian Network but also on Yorkshire's Galaxy and Radio Aire. He has apparently done a bit for BBC 5 Live too, so seems to have some credentials.

Article also mentions Eamonn is on next week too from Wednesday-Friday. I presume Kate’s off next week.

I presume Kate’s off next week.

She's been "REPLACED BY BBC STAR IN MAJOR SHAKE UP"

Very minor tweak today to the flipper. Instead of just 'BREAKING NEWS', it says 'ITV BREAKING NEWS', much like the ITV news and weather tags on the flipper already

It was back to 'BREAKING NEWS' today, so perhaps it was an experiment that wasn't intended to go to air.

He's also presented The One Show on a few occasions.

Problems with both the 7am and 8am openers today.
At 7am, the date appeared over the blurred shot of the studio (no other graphics appeared afterwards).
At 8am, the back-up set of titles played with no date and the back-up shot of the studio.

With regards to the 7am, I always thought the date was automatically set so it goes over the London backdrop. The only piece of animation that is free to play over anything is the ITV logo and logo itself. So maybe someone played around the keys, or the animation of the titles were damaged in some way.

Err - the same Adil Ray who has been radio presenter for 20+ years on both 5Live and the Asian Network (Breakfast and Drive), has presented series for Radio 4, has a history of working his way up in local radio, and has stood in as a co-presenter on The One Show on a number of occasions...

Yes - you heard right - a highly experienced radio presenter who also has TV experience is standing in for a shamed newspaper editor who had to resign for publishing fake pictures...

Well I stand corrected.

To be honest it’s a step up from Jeremy Kyle.

I know it's a little early but can I nominate and award this as TV Forum post of the year?

I’d never heard of his journalistic and presenter credentials either, but I have seen Citizen Khan, and on that evidence I’d say Piers Morgan is clearly more of a comedian than Mr Ray. YMMV
