Piers was always back on Tuesday. The promo was just an error.

Says everything you need to know about Ben and Kate.

Ah yes the same Kate Garraway who has been a journalist for nearly 25 years and presented on both Sky News and BBC News 24.

I don't watch GMB but really don't get why people act as if she's unworthy of presenting GMB - from the clips I see and if Good Evening Britain was anything to go by it's hardly News At 10.

I’m not suggesting otherwise, Kate is a perfectly capable presenter. However, the ITV Breakfast bosses feeling the need to replace her when there is a busy week of important news speaks volumes. Ben and Kate were perfect for the GMTV format (and were therefore a great fit for GMB v2), but just don’t suit the more news focused GMB v3. The two of them do have good chemistry though, and would perhaps suit presenting This Morning on Friday’s should Eamonn and Ruth decide to leave.

I suspect it's partly because of Piers Morgan links to Trump as to why he is on Thursday and Friday - they want people to tune it because he might rant about the protests and on Thursday he can comment on England's success or failure.

If you can hear what he's saying from up Trumps backside of course.....

Just noticed a new graphic in to break - “the conversation continues” with social media links. Doesn’t really fit in my opinion. Should be displayed before going out to the break like with the end credits.

Although this is a bit of a red herring isn't it, because he has publicly criticised Trump many times since he took up office.

Yes I noticed this too. It looks quite good in my opinion. It could work for a closing sequence as well but instead of the 'conversation continues', there could be something like 'Join Us Tomorrow from 6am' or something along those lines. I still find it rather weird how GMB only rarely do proper closings. It's only on special, extended editions that you manage to hear a full 'goodbye'. Sometimes it doesn't feel like that any more. More like a 'now off to Lorraine', and the show is done and wrapped. It was the same with Daybreak as well. I know that Lorraine is counted as a 'sister show' but I still feel that closing sequences are always the best way to wrap up the programme, instead of the straight-forward crossover.

Also, 8:07 before the top story! How?

They had a flagship interview, more important than hitting the top of the hour.

BBC Breakfast have done the same

I probably should have added some context. If they are running late because of a flagship interview, that is fine by me. But for 7 o'clock, they were 6 minutes past the hour and looking back at 6 o'clock, they didn't get to the top story until 6:12. It just appears to be a bit silly to grant Piers 11 minutes at the start of the show.
