I wonder if not featuring a drone shot of Television Centre in the opening titles had anything to do with Grenfell Tower which is right next to the building.

They haven't mentioned or shown TVC at all on any of the 4 shows that are moving.

How do you know that? We've only seen 50 minutes of the first of those 4 shows.

Is it just me or is most of the text on the lower thirds slightly off centre?

I meant before they moved.

It all looks like it's been redone... but redone in a slightly wonky way. Everything seems a few pixels too far to the top, bottom, left, or right. Or, in the case of the 'flipper', the text seems a bit big for the box. Hmm.

I don't think they need to though

Looking good so far.

Only niggle I have is how the two shot with Piers and Suzanna is framed.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is off centre though that depends on how they have positioned their chairs.

My main gripe however is that it does also have the top cut off it. Piers and Suzanna need to be sat higher or the backdrop brought down lower or zoomed out somewhat as it appears to be too close and you can hardly see the movement of the cars etc. that way.

On the whole I like the new set but they really should start dropping the entertainment section when they are running behind time. It seems odd to delay the TOTH for Richard Arnold talking about trivia

Yeah that main shot needs reframing, it’s as you say St. Paul’s Cathedral is off centre, not sure about that small weather desk that’s on for all of 10 secs and the sofa area is a millions miles away, rather then in the background like the old set.

NewscastStudio's piece on the new studio is live which has a lot of background from the director and designer: http://www.newscaststudio.com/2018/04/16/itv-good-morning-britain-studio/

The set’s hallmark white wood slats return, creating an arcing credenza behind the primary anchor desk, which has also been updated.
