Interesting that the whole segment was broadcast (to Sweden) in English. Of course, a very large proportion of Swedes can speak good English, many more than most Brits can speak Swedish, or any other language for that matter, but presumably for a sizeable chunk of viewers that was the equivalent of GMB broadcasting in German for 5 minutes.

Many Swedes consider English almost as a second first language these days - so it's a bit more like a Welsh language breakfast outlet broadcasting an English interview.

I think Sweden has something like 86% of its population fluent in English - so it really isn't a huge issue for most. In Norway (where English fluency is pretty much identical) - they don't burn in Norwegian subtitles for English language shows, they are optional 'soft' subtitles (like those for the hard of hearing)

Presume “just nu” means “just now” i.e. live?

I only bothered to watch a few clips recently of the show, and noticed the voice over says "live from television centre" why do they say it for this version, and not for the daily morning version?

Because GMB is broadcast on ITV Breakfast's franchise wholly owned by ITV Plc, whereas GEB was broadcast on ITV (Network) which includes STV.

The accompanying visuals on GEB were an ITV and STV logo side-by-side. The "...from Television Centre" wording was clearly only chosen in order to avoid the clunky "...on ITV and STV".

GMB understandably prefers to emphasise being an ITV Studios programme, above coming from an ex-BBC building.

Thank you, just wondered why they changed the voice over. STV are the last independent franchise left on the network, but I wonder for how long.

I don't really know what to make of Good Evening Britain. I have no idea how it could work if it were on 5 nights a week.

SVT (at least) use 'direkt' for live programming.

Direkt is used in the way we would use ‘live’. Just nu is used in the way US channels would use ‘happening now’ or ‘developing story’.

Or en directo for Spanish language channels. I think I've seen en vivo too.
