Can’t help but think that they went a little too over the top with the interview. It was a good scoop, but it shouldn’t have dominated the program. I believe that’s the first time they’ve started a program by just going straight into the titles with no TOTH.

A brief news summary from Charlotte right at the top of the show would work well on normal days, it would be nice to get the headlines before the 15 minutes of chat.

They also appeared to have some technical problems this morning, the graphics disappeared for a few minutes shortly after 6:30.

Another interesting tweet from Neil Thompson showing how the openers are directed..





And for some reason I've noticed that in the top left there is a screen with the opener graphics - however they animate more roughly than the version presented live on screen.

It's not that they animate more roughly, that is the animation you see on screen minus the fade which is presumably done by a vision mixer or similar.

Actually on second viewing, perhaps it's a guide animation which is then rendered for on air.

There were a few mildly headline-worthy points of interest dotted sparsely amongst an otherwise long and boring interview with a pretty dull man.

They would have been much better to have pre-recorded it and cut it down to make it much more watchable and breakfast TV friendly, also allowing them to be able to lead with the key points as headlines, giving it much more impact.

It was a bit like wading through a large box of stale All Bran looking for the one, free, disappointing plastic toy.

A minor sound problem at the start of today's show. The open sting played later than expected resulting in a late VT run.
