Christmas trees are still up in the studio this morning.

They have remained across daytime so far, which whilst it is traditional to leave them until 12th night also can be used to make the studios look different and fresh for next weeks rejigged schedule without doing anything bar a deep clean and removal of decorations.

Most people will be taking their decorations down this weekend I suspect (I know I will) so it makes sense for itv daytime to mirror that.

Additionally, a lot of people I know have taken Jan 2nd and 3rd off as part of their Christmas breaks.

I also know of many people off work until Monday 6th January. I noticed that Stacey Solomon made a comment on loose women along the lines of feeling uneasy with the decorations still being up.

Think there'll be any presentational changes on Monday ?

One of which can be heard during the beginning of the election programme - after the main titles as Piers and Susanna were introducing all the correspondents on the media wall.

Unless you work at the BBC, where you stop celebrating Christmas and take the decs down the minute Big Ben chimes on New Years Day!

That's pretty much what Mrs Markymark would like to do, but she agrees to wait until after we've had breakfast later in the morning

Looks like it will be Charlotte for the first 30 minutes. I do worry that people more likely to tune in at 6:30 will then switch off if Piers is ranting till 7am. It’s that half hour when most people probably want their news for the morning.

Ranting in a back half hour is probably better, as traditionally the news is at the top of the hour. You don’t get much proper news in the back half hour on BBC Breakfast.

In any case many people tune into GMB for Pier’s forthright opinions, and although they will never admit it, many people agree with many of the points Piers makes.

With Kate on Thursday's I would imagine as she usually covers Charlotte's Thursday day off.
