I feel there are some at Good Morning Britain (mostly Piers) who still gets sick to their stomach that the bland bore fest that is BBC Breakfast gets nearly double the ratings each day than they do, and they are throwing everything they have got at their disposal to get attention and try and boost ratings.

I'm one of those who quite enjoyed piers way of presenting, at least its different to the BBC borefest .

It's the news. News is boring.

It isn’t the ‘news’ that is boring on BBC Breakfast, it’s everything else that makes up the hour on a typical day.

The long winded sport with the chummy intro and outro that seems to go on forever, the weather and the location filming that they’ve done a million times before, the business, both the stories told exactly the same way each time and the locations that they’ve done before, the wish washy feature stories, the ‘banter’ between Dan and Louise that Dan always goes too long with, along with the stilted chats between Naga and Charlie that Charlie rarely wants to get involved in.

It’s quite obviously coasting because they know they are way ahead in the ratings, it’s the Breakfast equivalent of Children in Need night.

I think Breakfast shows like GMB and BBC Breakfast do have to balance being informative but not too newsy.

Breakfast isn’t necessarily boring, it’s safe. Safe has its audience but GMB provides an alternative.

The trouble is they’re poles apart. It’s like choosing whether to have dry Weetabix or a kebab for breakfast. Wink

It is still quite bizarre. Also have you spotted the traffic moving backwards?

I hadn't noticed that, but I will in future. I guess it was easier to fly the drone OUT of the doughnut than INTO it, simply to create a smother and more accurate destination when reversed. Very Happy

Slightly off topic (well, at least I'm not mentioning Brexit), but I've been off this week so have had a little time to surf the channels later than normal and for longer.

I am normally a BBC Breakfast viewer, but took the opportunity to see some of Burley@Breakfast and GMB.

Oddly, I had a little tear in my eye whenever I watched GMB's TOTH(almost) sequence, because a decade ago I never thought I would ever see something like this . . .

This Morning also features TVC in its title sequence.

Well, there's an entrance that the presenters could never have made when the programme was still at the south bank!

Do we know who’s covering for Piers this week? I think Adil Ray has mentioned he’s back at the end of the month.

If Kate is going into the jungle, she’ll be away for 5 weeks or so from next month. Guessing a combination of Charlotte and Ranvir will be covering.

Have they ever had a female main anchor other than Susanna, Kate, Charlotte and Ranvir?

Never really felt Kate was needed on a full time basis, especially since going down to three. Just bring Sean in to read the news on Thu/Fri and then have Charlotte as the main female anchor on Fridays, as she used to be.
