Found this interesting. Gargy still doing GMB rehearsals, but I haven’t seen her on screen in ages. Is she maybe an offscreen journalist now or just freelance?

Gargy Patel has worked there for years, in fact I think she joined GMTV not long after leaving the BBC.

Never seen her on air (although I see she has been) but her voice appears on news packages, normally those that are just overnight agency material rather than her going out to film

She did quite a bit of live reporting for GMB and GMTV, I think probably she’s now just a newsroom journalist

She effectively was at GMTV before she worked for BBC South East presenting Central's morning bulletins from Abingdon.

No need for the 'just', it's a good and important role

I assumed she had been at Newsroom SouthEast a lot longer than that.

Always thought that she has been a bit underused on GMTV as she was a fairly well known name on NSE. Didn't she once get a mention on Goodness Gracious Me?

Well it’s very apt for Winter approaching soon.

I found it bizarre to see Susanna Reid shouting down the line to the Prime Minister yesterday when he emerged from the (almost hijacked) BBC Breakfast interview, cupping her hands in front of her mouth in Robin Day style to make a faux megaphone, and calling the Prime Minister “Boris”. “Tell us now, Boris”, or words to that effect.

(Mind you, Piers Morgan was actually doing the same but was holding a real megaphone......)

Thankfully, the sublime Ranvir Singh managed to retain dignity and composure on behalf of GMB, by putting Piers and Susanna in their places and - moreso - by giving credit to the GMB viewers as being far more important than any of the three GMB presenters involved! Well done, Ranvir. Level headed common sense.

I have to say, I think the other two have probably crossed that line of only being interested in their own self importance and clawing ratings!

Just an opinion.

Piers and Susanna's performance that morning was truly pathetic. No matter what you think of Boris Johnson, he still is our Prime Minister, and to act the way these two asses did was truly pathetic in my opinion.

Are Piers and Susanna so desperate to compete with the BBC? GMB is still second fiddle to the BBC in breakfast ratings - get used to it Piers and Susanna.

I watched their totally over the top reporting of the BBC salaries and licence fees for over 75s - It was a story which they took and ran with, over the over again to bash the BBC, and of course they made sure they told the audience that their own salaries are huge, but since they are at ITV it is paid for by commercials, as try to imply they still understand "the ordinaries" as Alan B'stard would put it.

JKDerry: fully agree with you, especially your first paragraph. I’m not (at all) a fan of Boris Johnson. And never will be. However, you’re right: we should respect the office of Prime Minister, even if we don’t like the person holding that office!

I was extremely disappointed in Piers and (especially) Susanna. She’s becoming more of a Piers every day.

As I think we've touched on before, Susanna's transformation into tabloid trash is pretty much complete. On several occasions she has been complicit during Piers' rants against gender issues and proven she's not the forward thinking woman she likes to make out. As if to fully establish her transformation she now has a Daily Mail column.
