He did host a programme or two last summer I think, might have been the Thursday & the Friday of the same week. I agree him and Charlotte, with the right co-host, are more than capable stand ins, but more ‘celeb’ and high profile stand ins probably get more column inches. So you can see why Adil, Richard Madeley, Richard Bacon are chosen ahead.




Kate & Adil did Thursday too, with Ben & Kate doing Monday-Wednesday.
For the first time in a while there was no newsreader on Thursday either (at least not at 6am).

Ben said on Twitter that they're not filming Ninja Warrior in August this year so I'm guessing the arrangement of him doing Monday-Wednesday on GMB and Friday on This Morning is for the whole summer.

Mind you, perhaps not with Rochelle this week. According to one of the tabloids, Rochelle is on vacation together with Holly Willoughby.

Jenni Falconer might return from last Friday

If Ben and Kate are on Mon-Weds every week and Kate is on 5 days every week, I think I’ll be listening to Radio 1 instead. Ben and Kate have such a ‘Friday feel’ to them that they don’t really work at the start of the week IMO. Kate presenting all the time is also a bit much, would it really hurt to have Charlotte or Ranvir presenting one or two days a week?

Safe to assume Kate will have a Summer break, just shorter than the main two

Presumably Charlotte gets at least a couple of weeks off too considering she's on pretty much all year round with Piers and Susanna and often guest hosting when they're not.

I think that the last two weeks of the Summer holidays will probably be Charlotte & Ranvir with any mix of Adil, Richard etc that they choose.

In the meantime, we’re probably stuck with Ben & Kate.

GMB seemingly break a BBC embargo - I suspect maybe as not offered a slot to reveal Strictly contestants this year.

An embargo or did they just pick three names who are rumoured in the press anyway?
