When Piers is on, most of this thread is people complaining that he ruins the show, doesn’t let anyone else get a word in, makes the show run late with items dropped....
Now he’s not on, there are complaints the replacements don’t do the same Piers act...
I honestly don’t understand how it is good for the brand to go so far away from what the show normally does. It just feels so lightweight when Ben and Kate are on. I don’t dislike them but it’s so jarring.
GMB ls lightweight. It's about 5% news, 35% Morgan in full on reactionary mode, 5% Susannah giving balance and the rest fluff and plugging ITV shows. At least BBC Breakfast keeps the plugging to the last half hour.

Sorry but I don’t accept that. Piers is a brilliant interviewer and they frequently have long interviews with MPs and other public figures. Whenever Kate and Ben do the same they tend to come across as woefully uninformed.

Piers is much better actually interviewing people(And not giving his own opinions during the interview) than what ITV increasingly sell the show on which is Piers ranting about topics and people.
The last half hour of the show was presented from outside Television Centre this morning.
They’ve done that a few times on GMB and even Lorraine with Christine did it a few days ago. The only ITV daytime that hasn’t done it fully is Loose Women for obvious reasons
I'm guessing as there are the converted TVC offices around the concrete doughnut, now as apartments - there is a noise rule which means ITV can use the centre until a certain time in the morning?
The Strictly Come Dancing Launch event will be made this year at Television Centre, so I assume as in previous years this would be an outdoor event, before they head into Elstree's George Lucas Stage 2 for the launch show, so I wonder how that will affect people living in the new apartments, and noise rules?

That's recording on Bank Holiday Monday at 5.30. So allow for a 90 minute recording window, and derig afterwards, should be done by 9pm, and then you'd assume the patrons in the outdoor seating for the way overpriced bars and cafes built in the old stage 5/6 would create more racket than SCD will.
Has Ben been hosting the Friday edition of GMB as well as This Morning?
Often seem to catch Sunday Morning Live and Sean Fletcher really is a very good live presenter - chilled but knowledgeable without the GMTV baggage that Ben and Kate carry. Really annoys me GMB producers would just never give him a chance - I'm sure he'd be fine as a summer stand in.
