The voiceover just doesn’t sound quite right..

I agree. The two sections that do change day to day (date & presenters) sounded more off than usual. Especially the presenters names which sound really badly recorded. This further added to my thought that somebody new was going to be doing the V/O after Easter, because the recording sounds rather last minute.

Could the confusion of change in voiceover be because Dominic Green who currently does the voiceover ended his ITV continuity role?

Dominic Green has recorded until this week I think.

He did say just before he left ITV that he'd recorded GMB up until Easter if i remember correctly.

I've always thought there would be something wonderful about having the ITV News and GMB VOs recorded by Sir Trevor McDonald.
